The dexterity of a glove is its ability to handle objects with ease. Our liner gloves have been given a score from 1 to 5 in a laboratory study. The closer the score is to 5, the easier it is to handle objects as if you weren’t wearing gloves. 
In particular, tests were done to measure how easily it is to get a jacket on and handle the zipper while wearing these liner gloves.

This corresponds to the ambient temperature at which 100% of testers felt comfortable.
For better protection, we recommend that you wear gloves over the liner glove.

All our gloves are lab-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating. The temperature ratings (recommended and limit) come from a study with a test panel of 23 walkers exposed to temperatures ranging from 5°C to -20°C and 10 km/h (6 mph) winds. These temperature ratings are only valid in walking conditions.


How is the comfort temperature measured?

Optimize the insulation of your hands by applying the layering principle. Wearing liner gloves in addition to gloves creates several air pockets that effectively insulate your hands from the cold. To achieve this, the gloves must be big enough not to compress your fingers. This is because compression slows down blood flow in the fingers, which prevents them from staying warm.

When active, the body generates heat that is preserved by your clothing’s thermal insulation. If your clothing is inadequate, your body cools, and circulation to your hands and feet drops to keep your upper body warm. Your clothing therefore plays a role in keeping your hands warm.

We recommend that you machine wash your merino wool liner gloves at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. 

Dry them on a flat surface, away from moisture and all sources of heat. This could damage the fibre and make them lose their shape. Never put them in the dryer.

How does the material insulate you from the cold?

Two types of tests measure warmth:
- a material test 
- tests using a thermal mannequin in a thermal chamber We reproduce the temperature, wind (5 km/h), and humidity conditions encountered in the mountains during a 5 km/h hike.
These tests help us validate our design choices before field testing. 
This fleece has a comfort temperature between 7°C and 10°C (without a jacket over top).

How is warmth measured?

We make our polyester from plastic bottles, reducing the use of oil-based resources while preserving the material’s quality and performance.The white model is made from 100% recycled polyester and the grey model from 25% recycled polyester.

Why choose recycled polyester?

Textile dyeing requires a lot of water and produces wastewater from the dye baths. We use a bulk dyeing process that involves adding the colour pigments when manufacturing the thread to reduce the environmental impact. This dyeing process is used for our white and black models.

The aging of our hiking fleeces is tested to guarantee durability. We guarantee:
- resistance to wear from backpacks and moving arms to delay the appearance of pilling
