Comfort temperatures are posted on all our sleeping bags, which are tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) for compliance with European standards. The comfort temperature is the lower limit at which the user is in general thermal equilibrium, feeling neither too cold nor too hot (for an average person in normal conditions of use). Use this rating to choose the sleeping bag that’s right for you.

What is the temperature rating (lower limit at which you feel comfortable)?

In the context of this standard, the measurement protocol of a sleeping bag’s thermal protection uses a mattress with thermal resistance equal to an R-value of 4.8.

This means that when using a less insulating mattress, the thermal performance of your sleeping bag will be lower.

An important clarification concerning the ISO 23537-1 standard

Dress simply (1 layer of clothing is enough). Warm up your extremities: hats, gloves, socks, hand/foot warmers, etc. A container of hot water can be used as a hot water bottle (as long as there’s no chance of it accidentally opening!). 
Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is converted into heat) but do it without moving as this could create a draft. 
Use a bag liner to optimize warmth and avoid washing your sleeping bag too frequently.

Tips before getting into your bag

The generous mummy shape is wide at the shoulders and narrow at the feet, for optimal thermal insulation and to make the product more compact while still allowing some freedom of movement.
Shoulder width 70 cm (27.5”), height at feet 32 cm (12.5”) in size L, 62 cm/28 cm (24”/11”) in S, 66 cm/30 cm (26”/12”) in M, 74 cm/34 cm (29”/13”) in XL.

On a trek, you can snag a sleeping bag. It happens! The good news is that it can be repaired.
To do this, we recommend that you use self-adhesive repair patches (ref: 8584596).

If you don’t feel comfortable doing this yourself, a heat-bonded patching service is available at the workshop of your Decathlon store.

How to repair your sleeping bag

This sleeping bag is guaranteed for 5 years from the date of sale indicated on the receipt. The product covered by the guarantee will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects excluding any resulting from normal wear and tear or irregular use. The product and sales receipt is required for this special 5-year warranty to be valid.
