Textile dyeing requires a lot of water but also produces wastewater from the dye baths. We use a bulk dyeing process that involves adding the colour pigments when the thread itself is produced to reduce the environmental impact. In addition, we have reduced the weight of the fabric to reduce the environmental impact.

Cook what you want, where you want! The contents of the 4-person MH500 cookset:

We chose 18/8 (304) stainless steel because it combines food safety with long-term durability: It does not rust and prevents corrosion. Because stainless steel is a bit less conductive than aluminum, we added a double aluminum layer under our pots and frying pans in the MH500 collection. This diffuses heat and increases heating efficiency, reducing the amount of fuel needed to cook.

Choosing our cookset's materials: a crucial choice:

We chose a PTFE Xylan + coating by Whitford for its balance of non-stick properties, durability, and price and also because it's suitable for thin metal layers (which isn't the case for ceramics).
This coating does not contain PFOA-based adhesives and is suitable for cooking foods.
And as with all coatings, we recommend that you avoid using metal cutlery or utensils, so you don't damage the coatings.

How was the coating for our cooksets chosen?

We chose polyamide (cutlery and handle), polypropylene (plate, mugs), Tritan (lid), and silicone (trivet) because they are lightweight and very resistant to heat (at least 100°C), impacts, and deformation.
All our plastics in contact with food are BPA-free.
However, keep plastics out of direct contact with flames or they may melt.

And now, a little about the plastics used in our cookset!

Our cooksets are compatible with all types of heat sources (wood, propane, induction, etc.). 
The frying pan has a folding handle that locks (and unlocks) by pushing (or pulling) the metal part placed at its centre. 
The lid fits the pot and frying pan and can be used as a strainer. Grooves on the lid let you hold it without burning yourself.
The plates have a structured design underneath that reduces heat transfer.

Our advice for getting the best out of your cookset:

Store the parts in the following order to optimize total size and keep noise to a minimum:
The cutlery fits onto the lid, mugs and plates go in the pot. The table mat locks the set and the cover lets you transport it, even when dirty.
If you’re in a hurry—or tidying is not your forte—you can also place all the parts in the pot (it’s just noisier and less optimized!).

How to store your cookset

Before first use, rinse all the items 3 times with fresh water.
After using it, wash the parts in soapy water (preferably warm), then dry them before storing them in a dry place.
All the parts are dishwasher safe, however we recommend that you hand-wash your frying pan and pot (to protect the coating). Also avoid abrasive scrubbers or sand when cleaning the inside of cookware.

How to clean and look after your cookset

To avoid damaging them, never heat your pot or frying pan when empty.
When using with a wood fire, make sure that the flames do not directly touch plastic parts.
Do not use metal utensils with non-stick coatings. If you carry things in your cook set that may damage the coating, place them in a bag or piece of cloth.
Finally, always lock the frying pan handle when you use it.

Is there anything you should avoid doing with your cookset?

All of our products and materials meet current food contact standards and are BPA-free.

What next? Many people are involved at each design stage: 3D modelling, tests with experienced and novice users, lots of emotion, and finally, a product we’re proud of: a "turnkey" cookset—simple to carry and use so that you can put it to work stress-free in the outdoors.

The story of the MH500 cookset:

"When out hiking, one of our passions is cooking. Even outside, you can cook much more than just pasta. You can even pick your food during the hike. Finally, cooking is easy, and we wanted it to stay that way with this cookset: we wanted to make hikers' lives easier. Food tastes better when you eat outside. We enjoy meals differently."

The ladle and spatula are made from 66 polyamide, a lightweight, heat-resistant (150°C) plastic.
The chopping board is made from Thermo Polyurethane (TPU), a flexible material that withstands knife blades without damaging them.
The tea towel and case are made from polyester for absorption and quick drying.
As with all our products, this set meets food contact standards and does not contain Bisphenol A (BPA), in line with legislations in force.

How we selected the materials

The ladle, spatula, and chopping board are dishwasher safe.
The tea towel and case can go in the washing machine at 40°C.
These two machines aren’t usually available when camping...so you can wash your set with soapy water and elbow grease.
After a long time in storage, the chopping board will take a little time to flatten out. To speed this up, you can roll it the opposite way for a few minutes.
