Replacement foam

Helmets are designed to protect your head from a single impact. If you fall, you should replace the helmet even if there are no signs of damage. It may be weakened or cracked in an area you can’t see, and no longer provide adequate protection.
We recommend replacing your helmet every 5 years. Some of its components begin to age at this point, especially if stored in a cold or wet place. Manufacturing dates are printed inside the helmet.

Check the condition of your scooter before and after each ride. Remember to look for abnormal play, cracks, and sharp edges. Wheels and bearings are subject to wear. They should be checked and replaced if necessary. To repair your scooter and extend its life, visit your local Decathlon workshop to order any spare parts you need.

How to use

As for any activity that can cause a fall, we recommend wearing protective equipment (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads).

The original wheels on the MID 1 scooter are 120 mm.

However, all black Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8579530 are compatible and recommended for use when replacing the front and rear wheels on your MID 1 scooter. 

The black light-up Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8556617 and white Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8560490 are only compatible for replacing the Front wheel on your MID 1 scooter.

It is important to check the wheels for wear to ensure a comfortable ride and safety.

To make this skateboard better suited to children aged 3-7 years, it features a wider wheelbase: the deck is lower and won't have a leverage effect on the nose and tail.
We chose ABEC3 bearings for a smooth ride and softer bushings to make learning to turn easier.
And to make sure this skateboard grows with your child, it features holes for moving the trucks to a normal position.

About the trucks on the Play 120

With its symmetrical design and lower height, the Play 120 doesn't look like a regular skateboard.
For greater stability, the trucks are set wider and at an incline. 
The result: a lower deck to make pushing off easier.
With the trucks at the nose and tail, you no longer have any leverage, which means no goofy or regular stance - which is why it has a symmetrical shape. A skateboard that breaks the mould and makes learning to ride more fun.

"It all started two years ago. We wanted to create a skateboard that was truly suited to children aged 3 to 7 years who need to learn how to push off, ride and turn. That's why we used real bearings for a smooth ride: learning a sport should still be fun. If things are always hard, fun goes out the window. We tested this skateboard in skateboarding schools for children in h, France, to create a simple, age-appropriate product. The aim was for children to have fun using it."

Trucks, nose, bushing etc. Let's review the vocabulary: 

"First things first: to learn to skateboard, get yourself properly kitted out: helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, wrist pads. Protective gear means you can fall without getting hurt. Thermal insulation will keep your young skiers at just the right temperature. This garment adapts to the body’s movements and the conditions. Wedze uses wadding for insulation to keep the body warm. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores more or less air, depending on the length of the fibres. The thicker the wadding, the more air it contains and the warmer it is.

Thermal insulation

The waterproof coating is spread on the inside of the outer fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows water vapour produced by the body to escape. This keeps kids dry and more comfortable.

Coating

In addition to the waterproof fabric, we increased the waterproofing of these pants with taped seams. Waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams make these pants fully watertight. These taped seams are in the areas most exposed to snow. On these pants, they are around the buttocks.
