We designed this shelter for one adult or two children. It provides shelter from light wind and insulation from the ground. Our motivation? To offer a small hiking/camping shelter with a pop-up pitching system.

Sun protection
Flysheet fabric offers UPF 20 sun protection. We recommend protecting your skin. Warning! A significant amount of UV rays can pass directly or indirectly through the shelter’s opening.
Wind resistance
Use the tent pegs supplied when windy. Tip: To help the tent pegs secure the shelter to the ground and to provide excellent wind resistance, half-fill the cover bag with stones or sand and place it inside on the windward side.
Waterproofing
The polyurethane-coated polyester fabric protects you from light rain. The groundsheet protects you from damp ground and surface run-off. Warning! The shelter’s seams are not taped so it does not protect you against heavy rain.
Durability
Solid fibreglass poles that are highly resistant to breaking. 5-mm diameter galvanized steel tent pegs that are highly resistant to bending.
Eco-design
The fabric dyeing process consumes less water and reduces pollution.
Warranty
As designers and users who love nature, we care about product durability and make sure that our shelters are repairable. You’ll find spare parts (for pole repairs, etc.) in store or online. If you have a problem with your shelter, bring it to your local Decathlon store so our staff can take a look at it.

Instead of a beach umbrella

I bought this shelter to use at the beach instead of an umbrella because I'm a single lady with dog and life is too short to spend it holding an umbrella on a windy day. I recently used it on a rocky beach and thunderstorms were imminent. I weighted it down with rocks and the
dog and went for a swim. I was then able to change out of my wet bathing suit in relative privacy. It does need a bit of practice to collapse down but I was able to do it in high wind and rain. The only thing I would change would be to give the carry bag a longer strap so I could carry it cross body. Otherwise it is great value for money.
