We designed this shelter for one adult or two children. It provides shelter from light wind and insulation from the ground. Our motivation? To offer a small hiking/camping shelter with a pop-up pitching system.

Instead of a beach umbrella

I bought this shelter to use at the beach instead of an umbrella because I'm a single lady with dog and life is too short to spend it holding an umbrella on a windy day. I recently used it on a rocky beach and thunderstorms were imminent. I weighted it down with rocks and the
dog and went for a swim. I was then able to change out of my wet bathing suit in relative privacy. It does need a bit of practice to collapse down but I was able to do it in high wind and rain. The only thing I would change would be to give the carry bag a longer strap so I could carry it cross body. Otherwise it is great value for money.
