Anti-rotation

The PST 900 Ski Helmet is equipped with the MIPS anti-rotation system. Its purpose is to reduce the rotational energy of an impact and thereby reduce the risk of brain damage. The low-friction layer (yellow layer under the helmet liner) allows multi-directional movement of 10 to 15 mm with certain oblique shocks. This is to reduce the rotational force transmitted to the head and brain.

Semi-rigid ears

Our PST 900 Ski Helmet includes the MIPS system and semi-rigid ears covered with a shell. They provide excellent coverage of the ear (no cartilage pain and excellent hearing) and conform perfectly to the shape of the face (superior retention and no drafts).

Hat

The liner of our PST 900 Ski Helmet with the MIPS system is not the warmest in our range. As this helmet is intended for frequent skiers, we wanted it to be ventilated and breathable. The areas (in light grey) with memory foam allow the helmet to conform perfectly to the shape of each person’s head and reduce uncomfortable pressure points.

Ventilation

The PST 900 Ski Helmet with the MIPS system is very efficient for temperature regulation. It has adjustable air vents (open/closed) that provide very good thermal comfort, whatever the conditions. Internal ventilation channels with an outlet grill at the back allow excellent airflow.

Adjustment dial

The adjustment dial is key for keeping your helmet secure. The dial is easily accessible even with gloves on, allowing for easy and precise adjustments at any time. This makes it very comfortable and provides maximum safety. Turn the dial to the right to tighten and to the left to loosen.

In-Mould construction

Known as In-Mould, this type of structure features a polycarbonate outer shell moulded directly to an EPS liner. The inner EPS liner absorbs shock in the event of a collision. The whole helmet is extremely lightweight. Change your ski helmet at least every 5 years or after any significant impact.

EN 1077 standard

The European standard EN 1077:2007 applies to helmets used for cranial protection during downhill skiing and snowboarding. This standard ensures that helmets absorb shocks and are resistant to penetration. There are two categories: - Class A: Protects the top and back of the head as well as the ears and the side of the head.- Class B: Protects the top and back of the head but doesn’t cover the ears.

Which size?

* Measure the circumference of your head in centimetres (around the middle of the forehead, just above the ears). * Then choose the size that corresponds to this measurement. Example: For a head circumference of 56 cm (22”), try a helmet in size 55 cm-59 cm (21.5”–23”).

Fit

Take plenty of time to try it on properly. You shouldn’t feel any discomfort. If you do, try another model. Always try your helmet with your mask, because not all helmets go with all masks. A helmet is compatible with a ski mask when there are no gaps between the top of the goggles and the helmet.

Helmet adjustment

When skiing, your helmet should be properly fitted and adjusted: * It is essential to choose the right size. * The head circumference should be adjusted using the adjustment dial. * The chinstrap must be properly adjusted. It’s a bit like a car seat belt: if it’s too loose, it won’t protect you.

Safety

For optimal protection, avoid wearing a thick hat under your helmet that could cause the helmet to shift on your head. Wear a thin beanie or balaclava instead. Helmets have good insulating properties. Often, nothing else is needed. Do not attach a camera to your helmet, as it could affect your safety. The standard does not take into account any elements added to the helmet.

Ease of use:

Removable comfort foam is machine-washable at 30°C. The ears of the PST 900 Ski Helmet with the MIPS system are not detachable. Use only soapy water and a soft cloth to clean your helmet.
