A word from the product manager
Kids like to be able to get their bindings on and off without help, and their parents like it too. Two-buckle fasteners take longer to handle. A single buckle with an asymmetrical strap tightens more than enough, even for kids proficient at snowboarding at a mix of speeds with carved turns and jumps.
Single-buckle opening mechanism
A single buckle tightens firmly at the ankle with an asymmetrical strap over the toes, needed for backside turns. There’s no easier choice for kids!
Adjustment options
The original settings suit a majority of users. But feel free to make adjustments: - canting, spoiler, pre-drilled front ratchets. Adjust it forward (for sizes 4.5 to 6.5) or back (sizes 3 and 3.5). You will need to unscrew the binding. - pre-drilled ratchet strap size.
Stance, binding spacing
Can adapt to a kid’s body shape, but keep in mind that all snowboards have a recommended binding position (as marked on the binding inserts). A wider position lowers the rider’s stance on the board and improves stability. It also makes aerial rotations easier. On freestyle boards, the recommended stance width is generally wider than for all-mountain boards.
How do I change the foot position on the board?
For piste/off-piste boards: To keep feet closer together, move the binding forward only. To move feet farther apart, move the binding backward. The idea is to get a little further back to improve piste performance on bends and float on powder snow. For freestyle boards (symmetrical): best to keep both bindings centred on the board.
How should I angle my snowboard bindings?
For freestyle riding, we recommend binding angles of +18° at the front and 0° at the back. For on/off-piste use with all types of snow, we recommend +18° and -6°. The open back foot position helps keep the shoulders in line with the board. In pure freestyle use, feel free to opt for fully symmetrical angles, e.g. +15° and -15°. The choice of binding angle is very personal, so go ahead and test a few to find what suits your kid best.
Remember to centre your boot on your snowboard!
Disc bindings come with 4 screws, slide along a single axis, and generally have 5 settings. The setting is used to centre the boot on the snowboard and prevent the foot from extending too far over the edge of the board (so you won’t fall!). Make sure that your boot extends the same distance over both sides of the board. Rotate the disc 90° to increase or decrease the stance provided by the inserts. This means you won’t be able to centre the bindings laterally.
Compatibility with Burton Channel boards
The Burton snowboard brand has its own system for mounting bindings: the Channel. The binding is screwed onto 2 mobile inserts included with the board. Our disc allows this binding to be mounted on the Channel. However, the screws supplied with our discs are not compatible in diameter. The Burton insert is also different from the rest of the market. You’ll need to buy Burton screws.
