For warmth, we used insulating fill (60 g/m²). This synthetic, polyester-based lining traps air according to the size of the fibres to keep you warm.

Which fabrics are used to make my pants warm?

We lab test each of our products to provide you with a comfort indicator. This comfort indicator is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and a fleece for jackets. The temperature indicated is the external temperature at which the testers were neither warm nor cold. Of course, the perceived temperature varies in line with the intensity of the activity and the metabolism of the individual.

How is comfort temperature measured?

To keep your legs warm and dry, two layers of clothing are enough: - a ski base layer to wick away perspiration.
- ski pants to protect against bad weather and provide warmth.

How should I dress to keep my legs warm on the slopes?

The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. It prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. A membrane is unbeatable when it comes to keeping you warm and dry.

What is a membrane and what does it do?

A fabric’s water resistance is measured by the height of a water column in mm it can support (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A water-resistance rating of 10,000 mm means the fabric can resist 10,000 mm of water pressure.
For skiing, we advise components rated between 3,000 mm and 20,000 mm. 
At Decathlon, we lab test all of our waterproof products. This product scores 3/5.

How is your pants’ water resistance measured?

These pants have robust fabric and superior construction to limit wind and water permeability, protecting you in all weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To test their water resistance, the pants were placed in a special shower that replicates ski conditions. We tested this product’s impermeability over several days in various weather conditions.

How can I be sure my pants will protect me in bad weather?

Water repellency is a material’s ability to let water bead off the surface without being absorbed. The water-repellent features of these pants improve their resistance to bad weather. The exterior surface of the fabric is treated to make it water-repellent.

Why are my pants water-repellent?

The water-repellent feature can be reactivated. Simply tumble dry on a synthetics cycle for 10 to 15 minutes.
You can also use a waterproofing spray sold in our stores: spray the product evenly over the entire item, then allow to dry for 10 to 12 hours.

Can I restore the water repellency of my pants?

These pants have elastic gaiters at the ankles to cover your boots. The seal created by the gaiters keeps the snow out.

How can I prevent snow from getting in my pants?

To optimize your product’s performance and durability: 
*Machine wash at 30°C on a synthetics cycle. 
*Turn the product inside out.
*Use a small amount of detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
*Wring by hand. 
*Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.
