What is a waterproof fabric?
Waterproofness is a fabric’s ability to prevent rainwater from soaking through. A fabric’s waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard).The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. This fabric is waterproof to 2000 mm, meaning that it resists the pressure of a 2000 mm water column (which is about the same as a 2-hour downpour).
Is this fabric breathable?
To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). The fabric has a breathability rating (RET) of 8 on a scale out of 40. The lower the rating, the more the fabric lets through any water vapour generated by your body during exercise.
Pockets
Carry the essentials on your rides, and access them easily: - On your chest: 1 zippered pocket for your phone (phone size: L= 24 cm (9 1/2"), W = 14 cm (5 1/2") - On the back: 1 zippered pocket for handy things (tire lever, tissues, etc.) that you can access with one hand, even when wearing gloves! It is also designed for you to pack the jacket into it. - 1 side pocket for 2 cereal bars. - 1 multi-purpose side pocket.

I bought the Rockrider EXPL500 jacket along with the All Mountain bottoms for Christmas and so glad I did. The sizing has been spot on thanks to Decathlon guides online, I was attracted to them due to the price and I wasn’t sure the quality would be good but I was wrong! The m
aterials are good and strong, they are very comfortable, certainly rainproof, easy to clean / washing machine safe. Super happy with my purchase, will definitely consider more Rockrider clothing in the future.

This is a good jacket but I only gave it 4 star for waterproof & respirabilitate, it would be much more improved against rain if the zip was improved with a waterproof seal as in heavy rain it makes it’s way through the zip. As before being breathable I might be a bit picky..
found some moisture after a few hours riding.

Tight, not particulary comforable neck, no hanging up loop, but loving the access to the rear pcket being on the left side, as a lefty that is! And no backing to the top pocket zip which means whatever in there will get wet in heavy rain!

Been out in rain a few times and it's definitely waterproof at least for an hour or two. No reason to believe it couldn't cope with rain for longer. Elasticated sleeves and decent back pocket. Folds down small and light, I like it
