We carried out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory in light wind conditions (5 km/hour or 3 mph). 
The comfort temperature is the calculated air temperature where 70% of users feel slightly warm.
For this jacket, it is 1°C.
However, every individual feels the cold differently.

How will this parka keep my child warm?

Your jacket has a waterproof material that keeps out water and wind. To stay warm in winter, you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, fastenings at the cuffs, and high collar keep the cold out. Two pockets protect your hands from the cold.

How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?

Whatever your cold-weather activity, use the three-layer technique:
Layer 1: A high-tech base layer to wick moisture away from the body and keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: A fleece or sweater to provide warmth and transfer moisture outward.
Layer 3: A jacket to protect against the elements (rain, snow, and wind).

How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?

The seams of a jacket can be taped to keep water out.
The main seams of this jacket are taped, just like the seams of the hood, collar, shoulders, armholes, and chest.

What does it mean that the main seams are taped?

A coating or membrane is applied inside to make the fabric waterproof and windproof. Technically, a waterproof fabric qualifies as windproof. Wind protection is very important due to the significant chilling effect wind can have on the body. 

Windproof:

Water repellency is a fabric’s capacity to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. It prevents the fabric from soaking up water, keeping it lightweight, warm, and breathable. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. The garment should be retreated over its lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products for this purpose (spray and liquid) are available in our stores.

Why choose recycled polyester?

The ball fibre filling is a good alternative to feathers:
- The many fibres trap a lot of air, providing insulation from the cold
- Provides good thermal insulation even when wet
- Easy to care for: can be machine-washed.
 

The benefits of ball fibre synthetic filling

Water repellency is achieved by applying a treatment to prevent water from remaining on the fabric’s surface. 
Water rolls off without being absorbed so the garment remains light, breathable, and warm. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.
This treatment should be reapplied to remain effective. Apply sprays on the outside instead of using additives during washing, as these additives can damage the product’s breathability.
