Water-repellent properties

Our water-repellent clothing protects you while cross-country skiing. A fabric’s water repellency is its ability to make water run off its surface without being absorbed. A fabric is made water-repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment needs to be reapplied during the life of the garment (recommended every three washes).

How to stay warm and dry during cross-country ski outings

We recommend the 3-layer technique. Layer 1: a second skin (technical base layer) that wicks away moisture to keep your skin dry. Layer 2: an insulating layer (T-shirt, fleece) that provides warmth and wicks moisture outwards. Layer 3: an outer layer (jacket) that protects against the elements: wind, snow, and cold. Adjust the number of layers according to your physical activity and the weather. Make sure your clothing is breathable.

Why is it important to wear breathable clothing when cross-country skiing?

To avoid dampness, wear breathable clothing that eliminates perspiration. We measure the evaporative resistance (RET) of our clothing RET <6: extremely breathable, ideal for the most intense physical effort RET 6–12: very breathable, suitable for moderate physical effort RET 12–20: moderately breathable, not particularly pleasant for physical effort RET >20: not very breathable and therefore not suitable for physical effort RET >40: not breathable

Why you should protect yourself from the wind

Did you know that the wind makes you feel colder? With 20 km/h winds, 0°C feels like -10°C. Windproof features reduce windchill by blocking air created by wind combined with the forward motion of your sport.
