Weight

All our ropes are designed and tested in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, in the French Alps. They’re made in northern France by our manufacturing partner Cousin, expert ropemakers for 170 years.
Washing your rope
It’s important to properly care for your rope to reduce wear. We recommend the following: 1- Use a rope cover. 2- Wash off dirt under lukewarm water. Should stains persist and you want to wash the rope with soap, it is important to use a pH-neutral soap (such as Marseille or household soap) and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. 3- Air-dry away from sunlight and heat sources.
Storing your rope
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and corrosive agents. Never leave your rope in a car on a hot summer day.
Checking your rope
It’s important to check your rope regularly. Run it through your hands and inspect it metre by metre. This will allow you to spot any nicks, cuts, or weak spots. If you notice any abnormalities, if the core is visible, if the rope is deformed or if the rope has exceeded its fall rating, it must be replaced. Take safety seriously!
Rope length evolution
As they age, all climbing ropes shrink, usually by 2% to 5%. Usually, they get 2 to 5% shorter, but this can reach up to 10% depending on humidity, heat, falls, washing, etc. To decrease this effect, we calculate an extra margin of length when manufacturing our ropes, but sometimes this isn't enough. This is why we recommend regularly measuring your rope and checking the rope’s middle mark.

J'ai acheté cette corde il y a 3 ans. Depuis 1 an, ma corde est devenue beaucoup plus raide, donc difficilement manipulable, particulièrement pour l'insérer dans le système d'assurage et descendre en rappel. Elle commence également à s'effilocher à quelques endroits et s'entor
tille constamment. Je vais donc cesser de l'utiliser et m'acheter une autre corde. Je recommande cette corde si vous êtes débutants, que vous ne voulez pas investir trop dans votre première corde et que vos grimpes extérieures sont peu fréquentes. Si vous êtes intermédiaires, que vous voulez en faire un usage fréquent à l'extérieur et que vous voulez que votre corde dure plusieurs années, je ne la recommanderais pas. Somme toute, pour une durée de vie de 3 ans à ce prix abordable, je suis satisfait.

Mise à jour : J’utilise la corde d’escalade Simond Klimb 10 mm (60 m) depuis plusieurs semaines, principalement pour des sorties en voies naturelles. C'est une corde polyvalente et adaptée aux grimpeurs intermédiaires à avancés, avec un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Les poi
nts forts : 1. Polyvalence : Elle convient parfaitement aux pratiques variées, que ce soit en extérieur ou en salle. 2. Bonne maniabilité : Le diamètre de 10 mm offre un bon compromis entre sécurité et fluidité pour l’assurage. Elle passe bien dans les systèmes d'assurage (testé avec réverso et grigri). 3. Rapport qualité-prix : Pour une corde de 60 m, c’est une option abordable qui remplit bien son rôle. Les points d'amélioration : Résistance à l'abrasion : Bien que la corde se comporte bien dans l'ensemble, elle montre des signes d’usure relativement rapides lors de passages fréquents sur des arêtes ou des rochers abrasifs. Une amélioration du traitement de gaine serait un plus. En résumé, la Simond Klimb 10 mm est une corde fiable et accessible, idéale pour ceux qui cherchent une option économique pour leurs sorties régulières. Quelques ajustements sur la durabilité de la gaine la rendraient encore plus performante, mais elle reste une très bonne corde pour son prix.
