Boardshorts are swimming shorts. They were created in the 1950s for surfing.
Over the years, they have become a popular style of swimsuit.
The name comes from their use in aquatic board sports, like surfing. 
They were developed primarily to limit chafing against the board.

What are boardshorts?

Sessions lasting more than 2 hours
If you tend to be on the water for more than 2 hours at a time, boardshorts with a flat waistband are ideal, as they’ll fit snugly but comfortably at the waist. A bit of stretch is also important to ensure good freedom of movement.

How to choose your boardshorts according to the waistband

It isn’t easy to adjust your boardshorts while you’re surfing, so it’s essential to choose the right waistband. Flat or anatomic waistbands are the best choices. Our BS 900 boardshorts feature a flat waistband as well as a flat drawstring, which makes them less likely to come untied in the water.

Wave resistance

It is surely the most important criteria.  It is common for the boardshorts or its seams to chafe. Our boardshorts are designed specifically to limit chafing, a common issue for surfers.
The 900 model’s thermobonded construction and soft component further reduce friction.

In aquatic board sports like surfing, it’s particularly important to have maximum range of motion.so your boardshorts should have an ample amount of stretch. Our 900 boardshorts are made with a four-way stretch component to ensure you can move freely in and out of the water.

Waterlogged boardshorts can easily become caked with sand. These boardshorts dry fast thanks to their stretch component which evacuates water more quickly.

Quick-drying

Boardshorts length comes down to personal preference. Shorter styles, for example, provide greater freedom of movement. The average size M is 19 inches long (48 cm).

The BS 900 features a side pocket for carrying sun sticks and other essentials while you’re out on the water. It also has inner elastic strap for your surfboard key.

These boardshorts have a flat waistband that helps keep them up when you fall into the water or have to duck under a wave. This waistband style is also more comfortable when you lie down on the board to paddle.
