Waterproof properties
We measure the water resistance of a fabric in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is. Waterproofing ratings: Resistant to water pressure of 2,000 mm before and after ageing (5 washes). That’s equal to 15,000 Schmerber (the average pressure exerted during rainfall). These pants were tested in 2 hours of moderate rain (60 L/m²/h).
Care instructions
Rinse with clean water after use. Store in a dry place. Wash as infrequently as possible to protect the water-repellent treatment. Wash inside out, pocket zipped, on the synthetics cycle (30°C–40°C) with regular detergent. Do not use fabric softener. Do not overload your machine. Run extra rinse. Line dry. To restore its water repellency, tumble dry inside out on the synthetics cycle for 10–15 min.
Breathability
Breathability To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). The lower the resistance, the more a fabric allows the body’s perspiration escape. - RET < 9 = extremely breathable - RET 9–12 = very breathable - RET 12–20 = breathable - RET > 20 = not very or not at all breathable
