2 separate tightening zones
The All Road 500 Snowboard Boots have 2 independent tightening zones: 1. The micro-adjustable habu®FitSystem (produced by Boa® Technology) for powerful and precise tightening of the bottom of the boot. 2. A powerful strap flattens the boot against your shin. With this strap, the shin is not as tight and the foot is more compressed. A lower cable length prevents this from occurring.
habu® Fit System (produced by Boa® technology)
The habu® Fit System combines three important technical elements to transform the snowboard experience: 1) the innovative wheel ensures micro-adjustment and precision 2) the habu® cable is light but very durable, with 75 stainless steel strands 3) low-friction habu® guides ensure uniform pressure distribution while minimizing wear and increasing lifespan
How to repair the habu® Fit System
Supplied by BOA Technology, the wheels and the laces of the adjustment system have undergone thousands of hours of rigorous tests in the lab and in the field. They are guaranteed to prolong the life of the boot. After-sales service is guaranteed on the website: habufit.com/support
Boot flex/stiffness
The All Road 500 Snowboard Boots have medium (6/10) stiffness (or flex). This level of flex is perfect for riders who hold a curve at high speed (needing a stiff shoe) and allows them to remain responsive during small turns or surprise bumps that require rapid flex and extension of the legs. The flex and heel support are both superior to the SNB 100 Snowboarding Boot.
Adding Flex Up
The Flex Up enables you to add 2 out of 10 flexion points (with Flex Up, this new boot has a rigidity of approximately 5/10). This 100% plastic accessory is inserted into the tongue of Decathlon snowboard boots produced from the 2022–23 season onward. A pocket has been included in the design to keep it in the ideal position. The Flex Up adds stiffness: If your boot has lost some stiffness, give it a second life.
Heel support: level 2 (/3) liner
Foot support is essential for steering your board. The level 2 liner has 4 features: 1. Liner that can be thermoformed at home 2. Ergonomic Heel Pad 3. Two-point and scratch liner tightening system, plus shin strap 4. Hook and loop link between the liner and boot
1. Thermoforming the liner by yourself: Warning
Thermoforming is only possible in built-in ovens measuring 56 cm x 60 cm x 56 cm (22” x 23.5” x 22”) equipped with a fan mode. Do not attempt in a gas oven or small toaster over with visible heating elements.
1. How to thermoform the liner yourself
1. Heat your oven to 80°C in convection mode. 2. Remove the inner soles from the liners. Place the liners on a baking sheet covered with a piece of parchment paper. 3. Wait 15 minutes. 4. Put them on with a pair of ski or snowboard socks and tighten them (not too much). 5. Put on the boots and tighten fully 6. Wait for 15 minutes. This operation can be repeated if necessary.
2. Ergonomic heel pad ankle foam
Ankle padding fills the hollow under and behind the ankle, keeping the heel firmly in place. The level 2 liner contains exclusive Wedze foam: - the shape is based on the average of 40 foot scans. Fits the foot snugly and adapts to a wide variety of foot shapes - the material: a soft but firm elastomer foam. Feel supported as soon as you put them on. When you ride, there are no hard points.
3. 3-point liner fastening
There are three fastening points with laces: - At the instep - Above the ankle bone - At the top of the liner There is no tightness on the top of the foot, which minimizes chafing and ensure the instep is not too tight, as this can cut off blood flow and make your toes cold.
4. Hook and loop link between the liner and boot.
A rip tab was added on the back between the liner and the boot. Our goal: To stop the liner from slipping inside the boot for better board control, because it’s not enough just to hold your foot in the liner. If the liner moves inside the boot, you’ll have less control over your board.
Insole
The insole of this boot is flat. It offers comfort and thermal insulation. If you really need added support for your foot, here’s what you can do: - add a sole that is pre-formed at the arch and heel area - add a sole that can be thermoformed to your foot This is the most effective solution.
Sole: grip, traction, cushioning, and thermal insulation
Our Ultralight sole is 100% EVA. EVA is a very light material. It’s 80% air. This material resists abrasion while maintaining its damping properties. It is naturally very insulating and protects you from the cold ground. The lug tread offers excellent grip without retaining snow.
How to choose the right size
1. Put the boot on. 2. Tighten the boot. 3. Stand up. 4. Your big toes should touch the tip of the boot without excessive pressure. 5. Bend your legs forward; your big toes should move back, no longer touching the front of the boot.
A word from the product manager
The All Road 500 Snowboard Boots have been improved with your feedback. 2019–2020 season: - this boot now has 2 tightening zones: A tibia rip tab and a tightening wheel with a dial and cable, plus softer boot foam that is still thermoformable for greater comfort. 2021–2022 season: Reduced the thickness of the liner around the tibia to close the rip tab. 2022–2023 season: After breakages, we changed the wheel manufacturer. Thank you for your opinions.
