RCR

Mips

The Mips system consists of a layer with a low coefficient of friction, which allows for 10-15 mm (2/5 - 3/5") of multidirectional movement during certain angled impacts. This movement is designed to reduce the rotational force transmitted to the head. The RCR MIPS uses the MIPS Air system, which is the lightest in the MIPS range. Security

Because the main reason for getting a helmet is to keep yourself safe, this helmet meets all of the most demanding standards for impacts. It complies with standard EN1078. This standard covers the following aspects: construction (including field of vision), shock absorption properties, retention system features (including the chinstrap and tightening devices), and marking and information.

Sizes and weight

Choose your helmet size based on your head circumference. RCR: S: 52-55 cm (20 1/2 - 21 1/2") - 230 g (9 oz.) Size M: 55-59 cm (21 1/2 - 23") - 270 g (10 oz.) Size L: 59-62 cm (23 - 24 1/2") - 290 g (12 oz.) Note that this helmet is also available in a version with the MIPS system. This system slightly modifies the sizing. If you're at the top end of a size bracket and you want to have the MIPS version, we recommend getting the next size up.

Ventilation

The best way of ventilating a helmet is to have large air inlets connected to outlets via channels so that the air can circulate. The head is a vital part of how the body cools itself during intense exercise. To maintain high levels of performance, it's essential to remove the heat it generates.

Ventilation and aerodynamics

On the other hand, poorly positioned ventilation can lead to losses in aerodynamic performance by significantly increasing drag. The RCR therefore has a variable ventilation system that's based on your riding position. The more upright you are, for example when climbing a hill, the more effective the system is. Once you're in a descending position, the aerodynamics will make all the difference.

Return conditions (specific to PPE)

This helmet is personal protective equipment (PPE). The protection it provides depends on its condition. We can only accept returns of unused helmets. If this helmet is not right for you, please return it along with the user guide and tags.

Helmet life span

Helmets don't last forever. To keep yourself as safe as possible, we recommend changing your helmet at least every 5 to 7 years. It's important to store your helmet in its bag in a cool, dry, dark place. Extreme temperatures will cause the helmet's foam to deteriorate more quickly. If your helmet suffers a large impact, it's essential that you change it as there could be internal cracks that would prevent it from working properly.
