Insulating liner and sole retain warmth.

1- Preheat the oven to 80°C on fan mode.
2- Remove the liners from the shells.
3- Remove the insoles from your liners.
4- Put the liner in the oven for 5 minutes.
5- Remove the liners from the oven.
6- Put the insoles back inside the liners.
7- Put the liners back inside the boots.
8- Put on your boots and lock each buckle to the midway setting.
9- Wait for 15 minutes at room temperature before taking them off.
Now you’re ready to ski!

How to thermoform your liners

3 micrometric aluminum buckles and one 3-position buckle at the shin fit every calf size. Wide strap for powerful and easy tightening of the top of the shell. Walk position on the shin buckle (Walk in red) increases collar movement.

Buckle adjustment

Fine footwear (last 99 mm/3.9”), thermoformable polyethylene liner, thermoformable foam around the foot. Lightweight, comfortable liner. Preformed foam at the ankle bone. Flexible material lets the liner adapt more easily to climbing and walking. If your liners are uncomfortable after a few days of use, you can thermoform them.

Sizing

To provide an indication of rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This rating indicates the rigidity of the boot: the higher the figure, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 70 is considered best for skiers at intermediate level. A 70–100 flex rating is for intermediate skiers. A rating above 100 is aimed at advanced skiers. Heavier skiers, however, can go up a level.

What is flex?

Once your foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you fasten it past this point? This means the volume of the boot isn’t right for you. Once the boot is closed, flex the boots three times by pressing hard on the shins (put your hands on your knees to help) and push your heel backward inside the boot. Stand upright: your foot should touch the end of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backward so you can no longer feel the tip.

How to try on ski boots

1/ Choose a fine, technical ski sock to prevent pressure points and improve blood circulation.
2/ Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from being squashed and pressing against the shell. Ask an in-store salesperson for advice.
3/ Thermoform your liner.

What should you do if you experience foot pain?

Although often overlooked, drying the liner is the most effective way to avoid having cold feet. Even at -10°C, the foot sweats and the liner cannot dry in the plastic shell, even over several days. Ideally, it should be removed every day. Using boot dryers is more convenient because there is no need to remove the liner—just plug them in!
