Why wear this ankle support?
Wearing an ankle brace may be recommended if you have suffered ligament damage or are unsure how your ankles will react when you return to sports (basketball, football, handball, tennis, running, trail running, gymnastics, judo) after a mild sprain or strain. It is easy to put on and tighten (just follow the path indicated by the knit!) and has ventilated fabric and a shape designed to fit your ankle snugly and comfortably.
What is a sprain?
A sprain happens when you stretch or tear ligaments in your ankle. Losing your balance on slippery terrain, making a sudden move, or manoeuvring during active play are common causes of sprains. It's estimated that sprained ankles are the most common sports injury, occurring at least 6000 times per day!
Choosing the size of your ankle brace
Measure the circumference of your ankle, at 5 cm (2") above the ankle bones. Then take that measurement and find your size on the following chart: Size 1: 20 - 22 cm (7 7/8" - 8 5/8") Size 2: 22 - 23.5 cm (8 5/8" - 9 1/4") Size 3: 23.5 - 25 cm (9 1/4" - 9 7/8") Size 4: 25 - 26.5 cm (9 7/8" - 10 3/8")
Why protect your ankles?
Before getting back into sports after a sprain, it's important to do physio exercises so that your ankles get a chance to recover. After suffering a sprain, you have a higher risk of reinjury; hence the need to protect your ankles.

Une de mes chevilles a le tarse abîmé. Le pied peut pivoter et la douleur peut interrompre une sortie. La chevillère maintient parfaitement l'articulation, elle me permet de pouvoir au moins finir l'étape commencée.
