How does the fabric insulate you from the cold?

We perform two kinds of tests to measure the warmth of our fleece:
- a material test 
- tests on a thermal manikin in a thermal chamber We reproduce wind (5 km/h), temperature, and humidity conditions typically encountered in the mountains on a 5 km/h hike.
These laboratory tests determine the design, which is then validated by field testers. 
This fleece will keep you comfortable at temperatures ranging from 7°C to 10°C, with no extra layer.

How is warmth measured?

Our hiking fleece is tested for guaranteed durability. We guarantee:

We measure a fabric’s resistance to water pressure in mm of water column (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is.
Waterproofing ratings:
Component resistant to water pressure of 5000 mm before and after ageing (5 washes). This is equal to 5,000 Schmerber (the average pressure exerted during rainfall).
The anorak's waterproofness was tested in a rain shower with 60 litres of water/m²/hour for 2 hours.

To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). The lower the RET, the easier it is for water vapour generated during physical exertion to pass through the fabric.
For example:
RET < 9 = very breathable;
RET 9–12 = breathable.
This jacket has two components with the following RET values:
> more resistant fabric: RET < 12 (or 3621 g/m²/24 h, JIS1099A standard)
Lighter fabric: RET < 8 (or 2972 g/m² /2

This jacket stays lightweight and breathable in wet conditions because water
slides off the treated fabric instead of seeping in. The water-repellent coating applied to the jacket’s exterior may change over time.
To restore it, place the jacket in the dryer for 10 minutes at the lowest temperature.

Water repellency

To preserve its water-repellent coating, do not wash this jacket too often.
Close all zippers and flaps, empty all pockets, and turn the jacket inside out. Wash it on the synthetics cycle at 30°C or 40°C with your usual detergent. Don’t use fabric conditioner or bleach, as these could damage the water-repellent coating. Very important: Choose a full-rinse cycle or extra rinse.

How to wash your jacket

Drying is a crucial phase in restoring the water-repellent treatment.
We recommend laying your garment flat on a clothes rack to dry. Warning: Never dry your jacket directly on a radiator.
Next, put your garment in the dryer and run a short synthetics cycle (10–15 min.) before turning it right-side-out. Caution: Do not over-dry the garment.

What activities can you do with the moderate-support zipped ribbed sports bra?

Whatever the activity or its intensity, it's important to feel comfortable and at ease with your movements if you're going to enjoy it. And to give yourself the best chance of success, our first piece of advice is to choose the right outfit. This sports bra does just that. By adding elastane, we've increased its stretch. Why is the moderate-support zipped ribbed sports bra so easy to put on and take off?

You may not be aware of it, but your breasts are supported almost entirely by the skin, which makes them more fragile. During sport, they are put under much greater strain than usual. Regardless of your cup size or age, breast movement during a workout can exert a force up to five times your breasts’ actual weight. Wearing a sports bra gives them support, comfort and protection. It protects your chest from impacts and pain.

Is it really important to protect your breasts during sport?

Sport puts stress on the breasts, stretching the skin and ligaments. The absence of support increases the risk of pain or premature sagging. But too much support can also cause long-term damage. It is therefore essential to adapt the level of support in your bra to your cup size and the intensity of the impact you experience. The aim is to protect your bust without altering natural breast movement.

Why is it important to choose the right support?

Prototypes are approved in our laboratories using a test to assess breast support. This test measures the reduction in the acceleration of breast movements during sport. They are assessed and then classified according to 3 levels: 1 for light support, 3 for medium support, and 5 for high support.

What tests have been carried out to validate the support levels of Decathlon sports bras?

Depending on your sport, you will not choose the same level of support. You can choose between 3 levels:
- Level 1: light support if the activity involves gentle chest movements (Pilates, stretching, muscle strengthening, etc.); 
- Level 3: moderate support if the activity causes moderate bounce (dance, fitness, cardio-training...); 
- Level 5: strong support if the activity is associated with intense movement (step, treadmill, trampoline, etc.).

What level of support should you choose for your sport?

If the sports bra fits well, it will support your chest and be comfortable. To make the right choice:
- In front of a mirror, use a tape measure;
- Place it horizontally at the top of your back, on the lower part of the shoulder blades;
- Bring the tape measure across the fullest part of your bust.
- Measure without pulling the tape measure tight.
