[translation_pdp-storage-advice]

Dry thoroughly before storing.

Waterproof

15,000 mm membrane (Schmerbers) and waterproof seams. Waterproof zipper.

Breathability

The membrane, heat pads, and ventilation help wick away perspiration.

Freedom of movement

Loose fit and stretch fabric that moves with you.

Warmth

Glued warm pads (100 g/m² wadding) provide moderate protection where needed.

Limits snow entering

Helmet hood, storm cuffs, and a snow skirt to face the winter.

Pockets

2 hand pockets,1 chest pocket, 1 inner pocket, 1 ski pass pocket, 1 mesh pocket

Anatomic design

3D hood adjusts to go over your helmet and lets you move freely.

Warm with breathable technology

Heat pads are positioned for good thermal protection while freeriding. The membrane eliminates perspiration more effectively. A perfect compromise between a fully padded jacket and a three-layer jacket, so you don’t overheat. Modularity is the key feature of this jacket, so it’s important to add a warmer or cooler second layer depending on the conditions.

Additional features

The hood-over-helmet design offers maximum protection and freedom of movement. A single tightening toggle behind the head lets you adjust to three sizes in a single movement. Cinchable wrist and cuffs with thumb loops block air and snow. The snow skirt also reduces drafts and prevents snow from getting in.

Ventilation

To stay dry, it’s important to wear a waterproof jacket. It’s equally important to avoid becoming wet with perspiration. Vents let perspiration evaporate. That’s why this jacket has three ventilation zippers, including a large one under each arm (30 cm/12” in size L).

Cut

The wide fit and pre-shaped sleeves free up your movements so you can ski in complete freedom. This jacket was designed with a mechanical stretchy component. Freedom of movement while remaining feminine!

Pockets

2 hand pockets with a waterproof zipper. 1 inside chest pocket with a watertight zipper. 1 outside chest pocket with a watertight zipper. 1 pocket with a zipper and flap on the left sleeve, perfect for a ski pass. 1 easy-access inner mesh pocket.

What should you wear under your ski jacket?

To stay warm and dry, use the 3-layer rule:A ski base layer and a second layer liner jacket to retain warmth; a third layer ski jacket protects you from bad weather. Keeps you dry by wicking perspiration from the skin to the other layers. The second layer, such as a down jacket or fleece sweater, provides warmth.

The third layer

Keeps the elements out while allowing perspiration to escape, preventing condensation. Ideally, it should be waterproof and breathable. The third layer can also provide insulation, such as lined pants and jackets. This complements the properties of the second layer.

Water repellency

Water-repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. This helps the fabric stay light, breathable, and warm. Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment needs to be reapplied during the life of the garment (recommended every three washes). All Wedze jackets are treated for water repellency.

Waterproofness

A fabric’s water resistance is measured by the height of a water column in mm it can support (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A fabric with a waterproof rating of 10,000 mm is resistant to the pressure exerted by a 10,000 mm column of water.

Breathability

To determine a fabric’s breathability, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). A lower evaporative resistance means more perspiration can escape, increasing the fabric’s breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric 9 < RET < 12 = very breathable fabric 12 < RET < 20 = breathable fabric RET > 20 = little or no breathability

What is a membrane or coating?

The coating is like a paint applied to the inside of the fabric, making it waterproof yet breathable. It is often less expensive than a membrane and requires a liner to protect it. A membrane, which is a very thin plastic film (polyurethane), makes the material waterproof yet breathable. Flexible, lighter, and more durable than a coating, it is often also more breathable.

How do we make a garment waterproof?

A garment’s waterproofness depends on its fabric, seam sealing, and assembly design. The garment undergoes shower tests.

Waterproofness/shower test

This garment was shower-tested under 100 L (26.5 gal) of water/m²/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy storm.

How do you make a garment breathable?

In addition to breathable materials, other technical features (zippers, vents, mesh) improve the overall ventilation of our ski jackets and pants. These ventilation features regulate the temperature inside the garment and help to eliminate perspiration.

Your product is repairable.

This product is repairable. We commit to repairing your product free of charge for the duration of the warranty. If you need the seams, zippers, or another element repaired, contact your store. If we can’t repair your product due to a production defect, you can exchange it or get a refund.

What is the Recco® system?

All our Freeride jackets and pants are equipped with the Recco® system. With Recco® technology, you can be located in the event of an avalanche. Anyone buried in the snow equipped with Recco® reflectors can be quickly and accurately located by emergency services using the Recco® tracker. Recco® reflectors are not a substitute for an avalanche beacon. Recco® technology works as an additional safeguard, increasing the chances of being found in time.

Restoring the water-repellent properties

Follow care instructions when washing to preserve all the technical features. Link: After three washes, restore the water-repellent properties with a waterproof spray or wash-in product.

Great ski over jacket! If it fits you, yoh will love it. Used mostly for downhill, but occasionally for backcountry skiing. Cuffs are a bit weird, we cut them out.

Really good ski jacket.

This ski jacket is slight, not a big puffy one. Yet I wore it recently on days that varied from -9 degrees one morning to 5 degrees by midday. Great for layering. The arms have zips to let in the air, although I would have expected mesh, rather than nothing. It is longer t

han a typical jacket which is great, especially if sitting in the snow and waiting. Good wrist closers and inner layer with thumb holes for under gloves. The pockets are excellent, arm for ski pass and inside and external for everything else. I really like the colour and the hood that covers a helmut.

I bought this jacket for recent skiing holiday, was uncertain as I felt it was a bit too big for my short 5 feet frame. It was a great success, comfortable to ski in, lots of roomy pockets and zip opens at both ends, which I like. My only criticism is that hood is enormous (to

accommodate a helmet) and does not zip away.
