The anatomic design of this surcingle was tested with a pressure cloth which verified that the horse's spine remains totally free. The interior of the surcingle is made of a pre-formed NBR foam component to evenly distribute pressure over the horse's back.

This surcingle was designed with many rings so it can be used with a large range of draw reins.

Use this surcingle with a surcingle pad or cloth. However, do not use with a withers pad, which may put pressure on the area that is being freed up.

This bridle has a bold design that takes your horse's anatomy into account. The sleek, elegant lines feature contrasting white topstitching. This very first version of the anatomical bridle 900 comes in light brown leather and dark brown leather with a navy lining.

Design 

The neck is generally subject to pressure from the bridle head piece as well as from the rider's contact with the cheekpieces. To avoid this, we created a headpiece that frees up the back of the head and the cervical vertebrae with a bridge design that includes two soft foam pads on either side of the neck.

Anatomical headpiece design:

The lower part of the head piece is pre-formed to free the back of the ears, a very sensitive area; it helps relax the horse's mouth. Similarly, the brow band was designed with small fittings on the lower part of the head piece, avoiding pressure on the top of the brow and temples.

Anatomical headpiece and browband design:

The two cheekpieces and noseband are attached by a side loop to spread the pressure from contact of the hand between the neck and noseband instead of between the bit and neck.

Anatomical cheekpiece design:

The back of the noseband has two D-rings so the lower section can move into place to fit your horse's head.  The noseband is fully removable to make it easy to put on and take off. 

Anatomical noseband design:

Instead of a regular throatlash, we created a jowl strap so you can adjust the bridle and noseband position on your horse's head. It needs to be slightly tightened and helps keep the cheekpieces away from the bit and the bridle from the horse's eyes.

Jowl strap design:

High-pressure areas, including the neck, browband, and noseband, are lined with soft foam padding for the horse’s comfort. All fittings that can exert pressure are also padded to reduce chafing.

Reduced chafing

This bridle is sold without the reins. You can find our 900 grip reins, specially developed with this bridle, in our stores or online. They have matching details and come in the same range of colours. 

Compatible reins

The 900 bridle comes in 2 sizes: Pony (CS) and horse (FS). CS size is suitable for small-headed horses and section D ponies with large, long heads. FS is suitable for most saddle horses. Each size can be adjusted, making it possible to accommodate a range of medium to large horses. 

Sizing

Check that your bridle is properly fitted in a few simple steps. Make sure you can slip a finger between the horse’s face and browband, and between the headpiece and the back of the ears. The straps shouldn’t feel tight or be pressing on sensitive areas. The first few times you use the bridle, remember to check for signs of chafing.

How you adjust the noseband strongly affects how relaxed your horse will be. Slip a finger between the horse's face and the noseband, and 2 fingers between the noseband and the cheeks. If not sure how to adjust it, seek professional help. The noseband is not always necessary, depending on the horse's needs. The noseband on the bridle 900 is easily removed without empty loops showing.

Fitting the noseband

Clean regularly with glycerine soap and lukewarm water. You can then hydrate your leather with grease applied using a household or special leather cloth. If it starts to feel rough or dry, you can also apply a hydrating conditioner.

Polypropylene lining prevents stretching and keeps the straps even.

Chrome-tanned leather requires regular maintenance with glycerin soap.

The overlap of the three layers on the back, on either side of the mesh back line, reduces the impact of the rider on the back. The shape of the saddle pad is the most ergonomic in our range.

Saddle pad characteristics:

The mesh topline is wider at the withers to free up the horse's movement. The area that may come into contact with the withers is thin and flexible. The back foam pads are carefully positioned to avoid discomfort. For example, the 3-layer cushioning stops high on the saddle pad to avoid compression of the thoracic cage. The foam was deliberately designed to extend beyond the saddle.

The schooling bridle is available in four sizes: Shetland (SHT), Pony (PS), COB (CS) and Horse (FS) to fit all horses.

All horses are different, so our 500 Jump boots have been designed to adapt to all body shapes. Thanks to the synthetic foam on the inside and the adjustable rip-tab system, the protection fits snugly but comfortably around the horse's limb.

Have you galloped through wet sand? We recommend leaving them to dry, then brushing them, focusing on the areas in contact with your horse's legs. If any dirt is left behind, a moist sponge should remove the rest.

The back line component is airy, thin and flexible to avoid blockages. Suitable for general-purpose, jumping, and dressage saddles. Not suitable for Western saddles.

Dimensions 

It’s important to choose the right saddle pad. Before going for a test ride, check that your saddle is wide enough to accommodate it. A well-fitted pad won’t affect the saddle’s balance. You may need to change the girth or adjust it by one or two holes. Make sure to check the girth straps once mounted.
