How can I be sure that my jacket is strong and durable?

How can I be sure this jacket will protect me from bad weather?

The components and assembly process used for this product make it resistant to water and wind. The waterproof rating is measured with a special shower that tests the product’s capacity to withstand the elements. Snowboarders also tested the product over several days, under various weather conditions, to validate the jacket’s waterproofing.

Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?

In addition to the waterproof fabric, we enhanced the jacket’s waterproofing with taped seams. These heat-bonded waterproof strips are placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. These waterproof seams are used in the areas most exposed to the snow (hood, shoulders).

What is the water-repellent feature of my jacket for?

A treatment applied to the outer surface makes the jacket water-repellent, meaning water runs off the fabric without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 or 3 washes on average. All the waterproof jackets we design for snowboarders are also water-repellent.

Coated jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?

A breathable coating is applied to a fabric in the form of a paste or liquid, creating a protective film. The breathable coating is a waterproof barrier that lets through water vapour produced by the body.

How does my jacket keep me warm?

To keep you warm, we use wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores air depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech, or silicone-coated, and each type has different properties (warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc.).

How should I dress to avoid getting cold in the mountains?

To make sure you stay warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer technique: - Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. - Layer 2 or insulating layer, to keep the heat in. - Layer 3 to protect against the elements.

How do I wash my jacket?

To optimize your jacket’s performance and durability, we advise the following: *Machine wash at 30°C on a synthetics cycle. *Turn the product inside-out. *Use a small amount of detergent. Do not use fabric softener. *Do not use a spin cycle. *Hang to dry. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a heater or radiator.You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric with a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
