Formula: 15.0% Activated carbon, 3.0% Salts, 9.0% Vermiculite, 18.0% Water, 55.0% Iron

[translation_pdp-storage-advice]

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Warmth

Place the warmer inside your footwear once it gets very warm. Lasts 5 hours.

Ready to use

To warm up, the warmers need oxygen and humidity.

Fast acting

Open the bag, knead, and wait for 10 minutes. Activate at room temperature.

Ease of use

Blow on the warmer for faster activation, especially at 0°C or over 2,000 m.

Long-lasting effect

Gives off gentle heat for 5 to 6 hours. Single-use product.

Heating instructions

1. Take a warmer from the packet and knead the pouch so that oxygen and humidity activate the heating process. 2. Wait 10 minutes for the warmer to reach full warmth before putting it inside your boot. 3. Ideally, activate the warmer at a 20°C air temperature (at home, in the car, etc.). 4. At 0°C or altitudes over 2,000 m, blow on them a few times. The warmth and moisture of your breath will speed up the reaction.

Beware of burn risks (1/2)

Avoid these 4 situations: 1. Never stick a warmer directly to the skin. 2. Do not use foot warmers in the car with the heat directed at your feet, or at home in front of a heat source. Warmers provide extra warmth. In warm temperatures, they can generate enough heat to cause burns.

Beware of burn risks (2/2)

3. Not intended for intense sports (like cross-country skiing, figure skating, etc.): perspiration can moisten the compound and trigger an overreaction. Warning: compared to adults, kids’ feet and hands perspire two or three times more during the same activity . 4. Do not adhere the product to the instep: laces sit on this area and the friction speeds up the reaction. Apply warmers to the toe area only.

How it works

The warmer is a mix of activated charcoal powder and iron that produces heat through oxidation. The reaction stops: - When all the activated charcoal is gone. The reaction stops completely after about 5 to 6 hours. - In an airtight space (in a rubber boot or with neoprene cycling overshoes). The reaction starts when the warmer is exposed to air.

Good to know

The exothermic reaction begins on the production line: - The mix is activated and then checked. - Once inspected and approved, a pair of foot warmers is inserted in a plastic pouch, which stops the reaction and the heat it generates. The heating reaction restarts when the warmer is exposed to oxygen and humidity again after the pouch is opened.

What should I do if my warmer stops heating after an hour or so? What if it doesn’t get warm enough?

This means that a lack of air suppresses the reaction. If this happens, just remove the warmer, expose it to air, or blow on it to restart the heating process. Then simply put it back in your boot.

Troubleshooting

The warmer may not be working properly because of: - a lack of air: in a neoprene overshoe or a rubber boot, for example. - extreme conditions: in extreme cold, the warmer provides warmth in addition to the ambient temperature. However, it may not sufficiently warm up in extremely low temperatures. - an altitude exceeding 3,000 m, where a lack of oxygen limits the reaction.

Precautions

Never glue the warmer directly to the skin. Children, the elderly, and people with disabilities should use this product with care and under supervision. Seek the advice of a doctor before use in cases of diabetes, delicate or sensitive skin, blood circulation problems, paralysis or damaged nerves, rheumatoid arthritis, if you are pregnant, or if you have any doubts regarding the product. For external use only. Do not apply to frostbite or desensitized skin. Do not use while sleeping.

Single-use product.

The exothermic reaction consumes the activated charcoal and oxidizes the iron. Once the fuel is spent, the reaction ends and the powder becomes hard.

Restrictions

Foot warmers should only be used for your feet and should not be used on other parts of the body.

These are by far the most useless chemical foot warmers I have ever tried. Out of the fifteen pairs in the box, I have tried three so far, for cold weather cycling - and it’s nearly impossible to feel if they’re producing heat or not. Thinking warm thoughts or staring into the

sun might be more effective ways of keeping my toes warm. I could keep these handy for placebo usage for my kids on +5 degree days but would not rely on them for any sort of warming capacity at all.

We tried to use them for skiing. They inflated when they were activated so became bulky. The adhesive wasn’t strong enough to hold them to the sock so it was difficult to get them in the boot. The powder inside clumped together and formed hard areas so they became uncomfortabl

e. The heat didn’t last long because they need a certain amount of air to work and ski boots are fitted. But Hotties instead.
