What is Ziprotec?

At Decathlon, we make it a priority to offer you products that will make your children’s lives easier. Ziprotec lets you combine the jacket with the DBCK 500 Back Protector for snowboarding, skiing, and mountain biking. It’s simple! Ziprotec is: - An additional zipper on the inside of the jacket - A hook at the top of the back of the jacket. If your child has their jacket on, they are protected from bumps.

This jacket has been designed, developed, and tested with the 500 Protect Snowboard Mittens that go under the jacket so that kids can put the mittens through the sleeve on their own (ages 8 and up). Waterproofing

In addition to the waterproof fabric, we have enhanced the waterproofing of the jacket with taped seams. These heat-bonded waterproof strips are placed on the inside seams to make it perfectly watertight. On the SNB 500 Snowboard Jacket, 100% of the seams are taped.

Hood rolls under the helmet

When snowboarding, snow can get inside the jacket during a fall. The collar and hood were designed to limit this unpleasant experience. The hood keeps the snow out. Fold the hood in 4 and attach it with the hook-and-loop tab it so it stays up and fills the gap under the helmet. The collar must be fastened up to the top to keep everything tight.

Hood over the helmet

The hood is designed to fit over a helmet in case of strong winds or heavy snowfall. Simply open the collar of the jacket by about 10 cm (3.94”), pull the hood over the helmet, and close the collar with the gusset (hook-and-loop tab closure). The gusset creates a well-protected area for the mouth and nose.

How to dress your children so they stay warm on the slopes

To make sure you stay warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer technique: - Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. - Layer 2 or insulating layer, to keep the heat in. - Layer 3 to protect against the elements.

How does my jacket keep me warm?

To keep the kids warm, we use wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores air depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech, or silicone-coated, and each type has different properties (warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc.).

How do I look after my product?

To optimize your product’s performance and durability, we recommend: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn the product inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. Do not use fabric softener. Wring by hand. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a heater or radiator. You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric with a fabric waterproofing spray.

Repairs

This product is repairable. We will repair your product for free for the duration of the warranty. If you need seams, zippers, or anything else repaired, please contact your store. If we can’t repair your product (product defect), we will exchange it or reimburse you.
