Compared with our 100 jacket, the 300 jacket has: 
– A more waterproof (15,000 Schmerber) and stretchy fabric.
– A rip-tab wrist fastening.
– A hood that stows in the collar and can be adjusted in depth. 
– An additional outside breast pocket.

Technical features of the component

The hood can be stored in the collar. The collar is then fastened with plastic press studs to prevent oxidation by salt.
Height- and depth-adjustable hood: adjustable at the back of hood and on the collar.
The chin-high collar protects your lower face. Height of the collar (at the back): 9 cm.

Collar and hood

The end of the sleeve is adjustable with a rip-tab to adjust the sleeve length and prevent air and water from getting in.
To remove the jacket more easily, unfasten the rip-tabs. 

Sleeve cuffs

An inner storm flap protects the full-length zipper from wind and water and the collar has a soft flap to shield your chin.

Front zipper

Features 2 front zip pockets. Plastic-moulded zip to prevent salt oxidation.
1 inner chest zip pocket on the left side.
1 inner chest rip-tab pocket on the right side.

Please note: Pockets are not waterproof.

We measure the resistance of a fabric to water pressure in mm of water column (JIS standard). The higher the water pressure a fabric can withstand, the more waterproof it is.
Waterproofing ratings:
Component resistant to water pressure of 5,000 mm after ageing (5 washes). This equates to 15,000 Schmerber (JIS standard), which is the average water pressure during a rain shower.
The anorak's waterproofness was tested in a rain shower with 60 litres of water/m²/hour for 2 hours.

Waterproofing of the 300 jacket

To find out if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat transfer (RET). The lower the RET, the easier it is for water vapour generated during physical exertion to pass through the fabric.
For example:
RET < 9 = very breathable;
RET 9–12 = breathable.
The sailing jacket’s RET is 12.

This jacket stays lightweight and breathable in wet conditions because water
slides off the treated fabric instead of seeping in. The water-repellent coating applied to the jacket’s exterior may change over time.
To restore it, place the jacket in the dryer for 10 minutes at the lowest temperature.

Water repellency

To preserve its water-repellent coating, do not wash this jacket too often.
Close all the zips and flaps, empty the pockets and stow the hood in the collar. Wash it on the synthetics cycle at 30°C or 40°C with your usual detergent. Do not use a softener, which may reduce the initial performance of the garment.
Very important: Run a full rinse cycle or extra rinse.

How to wash your jacket

Drying is a crucial phase in restoring the water-repellent treatment.
We recommend that you lay your garment flat on a clothes rack to dry. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator.
Then place it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it back the right way round. Caution: Do not over-dry the garment.
