Will these pants protect me in bad weather?
This product was designed and constructed with components that keep the water out and reduce wind chill. These pants have been tested on the slopes in all conditions to verify their waterproofing.
Why are my pants water-repellent?
The water-repellent treatment applied to the outer surface makes water run off the fabric without seeping in. The fabric does not soak up water and stays light and warm. This treatment must be renewed during the life of the product, after 2 or 3 washes on average. All our waterproof pants designed for skiers and snowboarders are water-repellent.
Water often gets in through the seams. Do my pants have waterproof seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we enhance the waterproofing of our pants with taped seams. These heat-bonded waterproof strips are placed on the seams inside the clothing to make it perfectly watertight. Are all seams taped on the entire outfit?
How do my pants keep me warm?
To keep you warm, we use wadding insulation. Wadding is a synthetic component made from polyester that stores air depending on the length of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, hi-tech, or silicone-coated, which each have different properties (warmth, low weight, elasticity, etc.). The SNB 500 Snowboard Pants also have Warmseat technology, which improves insulation on the seat by 54%.
What is a membrane and what does it do?
A membrane is a very thin component (5 to 25 micrometres) applied to the inside layer of a garment to ensure waterproofing and breathability. Our membrane components keep the elements out and let perspiration escape while you snowboard.
How should I wash my pants?
For optimum performance and durability, care for your product as follows: *Machine wash at 30°C on a synthetics cycle. *Turn the product inside-out. *Use a small amount of detergent. Do not use fabric softener. *Do not use a spin cycle. *Hang to dry. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a heater or radiator. You can restore the water resistance of the outer fabric with a fabric waterproofing spray. Read the care label.
How should I dress to avoid getting cold in the mountains?
To keep warm and dry, we recommend the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: wear 3 layers of clothing, each with a specific function. Your base layer should produce and retain warmth. Your protective shorts keep you warm (and protect you from impacts), whereas the jacket protects you from the weather. All these layers should be breathable to wick away moisture.
How can I prevent snow from getting in my pants?
These pants have elastic gaiters at the ankles to cover your boots. The seal created by the gaiters keeps the snow out.
