Our hiking boots provide extra comfort. This hiking boot has an EVA foam midsole and insole (ethylene vinyl acetate), and the neck of the shoe (top of the heel) includes synthetic foam. We also made the heels seamless.
How do you measure durability for the NH 500 Leather Hiking Boots?
We conducted tests on various elements of the shoes, including tear resistance of eyelets and straps, bonding, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion resistance of outsole and upper components, and accelerated aging. The sole design is the result of extensive research conducted in our labs. The sole is composed of a specific rubber formula that optimizes grip and traction. We are always looking for the best solution for walking on forest and coastal trails. Wearing the boots on paved roads can lead to the premature wear and cause discomfort. Which pair of socks should you wear with the NH 500 Leather Hiking Boots?
These boots are somewhat breathable, but not enough to wick away all moisture. We recommend the Hike 100 Low or Mid Socks. They contain moisture-absorbing cotton and have a reverse terry-knit structure underneath that wicks moisture away from your feet. They’re also high enough to protect your ankles. High socks reduce the chance of blisters.
How waterproof are the NH 500 Leather Hiking Boots?
We conducted lab tests that simulate walking with the boots half-submerged in water. We also conducted field tests to measure wear and aging. During the waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofness: 2,000 flexes (30-minute hike), 10,000 flexes (3-hour hike), and 30,000 flexes (6-hour hike). This boot has been tested for up to 30,000 flexes, equivalent to a 6 km (3.7 mile) hike.

- Leave to air dry. - Remove dry mud with a stiff brush. - Clean stains with a brush and a little lukewarm water. - Air dry. - Use a re-waterproofing spray (product ref. 8677748) to restore water repellency to the upper.

Pas du tout imperméables, j'ai eu les pieds trempés après une heure sous une pluie assez forte. Et très longues à sécher ! Les autres personnes du groupe avaient des chaussures de "marque" qui résistent mieux à la pluie.
