Anti-mosquito solution
The product’s tightly woven component acts as a mechanical barrier that limits mosquito bites (when not pulled tight). We chose a less toxic mechanical solution than permethrin-based impregnation (biocidal product).
Effectiveness
Efficiency The efficiency of this hat was tested in extreme conditions in a specialized laboratory. We placed 60 female mosquitoes of 3 different species (Aedes, Culex, and Anopheles) in a sealed room (only female mosquitoes bite). Ten testers spent 60 minutes in the room in total. How effective is the mosquito net?
The World Health Organization recommends at least 25 holes per cm² to stop mosquitoes effectively. With 40 holes per cm², the mosquito net used on this hat won’t let any through. This net is untreated.

How do you protect yourself in the areas that are prone to mosquitoes?
If you are visiting an area with increased mosquito activity, we also recommend using an anti-mosquito spray, a lemon eucalyptus-based essential oil, or icaridin. In some countries, mosquitoes can be carriers of serious diseases such as chikungunya, dengue fever, and malaria.

Excellent hat against mosquitoes and black flies

We went hiking for three days during black fly season, and the hat was a real improvement over what we had before. No black fly bites around the head, and the light material of the hat makes it bearable in warmer temperatures.

Très bon produit ! Possède le même en coloris vert foncé. J’ai essayé la casquette steppe avec filet anti moustique au rayon pêche, mais le filet ne permet pas une bonne visibilité. Tandis qu’avec ce chapeau, on voit plutôt bien au travers du filet. Bien protégé, chapeau léger
et agréable à porter. Opinion personnelle: coloris terne comparé au coloris vert foncé de la première production de ce produit. Ça se rapproche plus au coloris de la pêche que des tropiques
