Helmets are designed to protect your head from a single impact. If you fall, you should replace the helmet even if there are no signs of damage: it may be weakened or cracked in an area you can’t see, and no longer provide adequate protection.
We recommend replacing your helmet every 5 years. Some of its components begin to age at this point, especially if stored in a cold or wet place. Manufacturing dates are printed inside the helmet. 

When should you replace a helmet?

What are the dimensions of the B100?

We recommend checking the condition of your scooter before and after each ride. Remember to check for abnormal play, cracks, and sharp edges. Wheels and bearings are subject to wear. They should be checked and replaced if necessary. To repair your scooter and extend its life, visit your local Decathlon workshop to order any spare parts you need.

How should you maintain the B100?

The handlebar can be removed and fixed underneath the deck with a rubber strap. This makes the scooter less bulky for easy transportation and storage.

Transporting the B100

All of our scooters have been lab-tested. These tests verify compliance with the European standards for scooters and check wear on the scooter. For example, one of our tests involves a machine that folds the scooter 10,000 times to check its folding system. In addition to lab tests, we do field tests—some measured and others based on testers' opinions—to really put the product through its paces. The result is a tested, proven product.

Ewa, our product manager, recommends the complete kit: helmet, elbow and knee pads, and wrist guards. Safety precautions

See the little tongue on the front of the boot? Just clip it at the right spot to fit your child’s foot. The space at the forefoot is left open to accommodate up to 2 more shoe sizes. Clever, eh?

Spare parts

Bearings are rated ABEC 1 to 7. 
We selected ABEC 1 bearings to guarantee a progressive glide experience suited for kids just learning how to skate.Basically, these skates glide more slowly. The wheels measure 60 mm (2.6 in).

How do we test our skates?

Unlike plastic, which rips but does not brake, rubber brakes have a lot of grip: they help your child brake more effectively. What’s more, rubber wears less quickly than plastic.

For even greater stability, we equipped these skates with wider wheels.

As for any activity that can cause a fall, we recommend wearing protective equipment (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads).

The original wheels on the MID 1 scooter are 120 mm.

However, all black Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8579530 are compatible and recommended for use when replacing the front and rear wheels on your MID 1 scooter. 

The black light-up Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8556617 and white Oxelo 125 mm wheels ref. no. 8560490 are only compatible for replacing the Front wheel on your MID 1 scooter.

It is important to check the wheels for wear to ensure a comfortable ride and safety.

We recommend wearing a helmet, elbow and knee pads, and wrist guards. You never know when you’re going to take a tumble!

See the little tongue on the front of the boot? Simply move the rip-tab to the number desired. 1 for the smallest size, 2 for the middle size and 3 for the biggest. The space at the front of the foot is then freed up, thus gaining 2 sizes. Clever, eh?

The hardware kit, also called "stability kit", can be fitted to Play 3 and Play 5 inline skates of any size. This "stability kit" lets kids start in "tricycle" mode: It's the ideal way to increase stability on their first few rides to build up confidence.

When the little ones skate for the first time, parents tend to hold both their arms. It's an automatic reflex, but it's not a good idea. So how can the kids be helped? Take them somewhere with a handrail; tell them to walk with baby steps while holding the rail in one hand. They'll get there!

Unlike plastic, which skids, rubber provides good traction. This prevents slipping when your child pushes off and helps them brake effectively. What’s more, rubber wears less quickly than plastic.
