Are you always out on cliff runs? Do you fall and put your all into your climbing? This is the climbing rope you need. Its diameter (9.5 mm (1/3")) and the special weave of the sheath guarantee excellent fluidity, lightness, and flexibility over time. This makes climbing and belaying easy and enjoyable.

Rope: 100.0% Polyamide
[translation_pdp-tests]
Designed by our teams in the Chamonix valley (France), at the foot of the Mont Blanc, all our ropes are lab tested, certified to guarantee their mechanical features. They are then approved in real-life conditions on big walls and in the mountains by our technical partners.
[translation_pdp-storage-advice]
Use a rope bag to reduce rope wear and coiling. Do not store in the trunk of the car when temperatures are too hot. Avoid all contact with chemical products.Dry fully before storing (away from UV rays)
Stretch
Good impact absorption thanks to its low impact force (8.6 kN).
Abrasion resistance
A special weave on the sheath to increase resistance over time.
Lightweight
Excellent compromise between lightness and durability 58 g/m (2 oz./yd)
Ease of use
Immediately ready for use without twisting thanks to the skein-like coiling.
Technical features
They are measured and confirmed in the laboratory by a certification body in accordance with standard EN 892: Number of falls: 6 Impact force: 8.4 KN Sheath percentage: 35.4% Dynamic elongation: 30.9% Static elongation: 5% Sheath slippage: 1 mm (1/25") To define the number of falls, the standard's protocol is much stricter than reality. The fall factor used is very high: 1.77. Under normal conditions, the fall factor is much lower.
The Vertika rope's weight
The weight is 58 g/m (2 oz/yd). It's an excellent compromise between lightness and durability. The weight is measured according to the EN 892 standard. For a single rope, the rope must be exposed to 10 kg (22 lbs) of tension for 1 minute in very precise temperature and moisture conditions. This determines the rope’s actual weight, which is often superior to the weight given by the standard. But the standard allows us to compare ropes objectively.
Designed for high performance over time
Our designers have paid particular attention to ensuring that the Vertika rope remains as fluid as possible over time. To achieve this, they increased the strength of the sheath by making it denser (48 spindles) and knitting it with a smoother structure to reduce friction. A plasma process draws the core and sheath together. This provides greater binding between them and ensures that the rope remains fluid over time.
A centre mark for improved safety
To improve your safety, the Vertika rope features a black mark which indicates the middle of the rope. We recommend always checking the length of the route before climbing as well as tying a knot at the end of the rope.
Possible changes to length over time
All climbing ropes shrink as they age, usually by 2% to 5%. This generally ranges from 2 to 5%, but can go up to 10% depending on humidity, heat, falls, washing, etc. To reduce this effect, we provide an extra length margin in production, but we recommend that you measure your rope regularly and verify the location of the marking in the middle of the rope.
Made in France
All of our ropes are designed and tested at our headquarters in Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc valley. They are made in the North of France, in our advanced partner factory Cousin in textile braiding for the last 170 years.
How to wash your Vertika rope
It’s important to properly care for your rope to reduce wear. Dirt ages rope. We recommend: 1- Use a rope bag at the foot of the routes. 2- Wash off dirt under lukewarm water. Should stains persist and you want to wash the rope with soap, it is important to use a pH-neutral soap (such as Marseille or household soap) and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. 3- Air-dry away from sunlight and heat sources.
How to store your Vertika rope
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and corrosive agents. Never leave your rope in a car on a hot summer day.
How to check your Vertika rope
It’s important to check your rope regularly. Run it through your hands and inspect it metre by metre. This will allow you to spot any nicks, cuts, or weak spots. If you notice any anomalies or irregularities, if the core is at all visible, if the rope is deformed, or if it has exceeded its fall rating, it must not be used.
Vertika rope certification
CE-certified rope according to the standard EN 892:+A1: 2016 UIAA 101 certified rope
