Our water-repellent clothing protects you while cross-country skiing.
Water repellency is a material’s ability to shed water without absorbing it. 
Water repellency is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. 

Water-repellent properties

We recommend the three-layer technique. 
Layer 1: A second skin (technical base layer) that wicks away moisture to keep your skin dry.
Layer 2: An insulating layer (T-shirt, fleece) that provides warmth and wicks away moisture.
Layer 3: An outer layer (jacket) that protects against the elements (wind, snow, cold).

Adjust the number of layers to suit the intensity of your activity and the weather. Make sure your clothing is breathable.

How to stay warm and dry while cross-country skiing

To avoid feeling damp, wear breathable clothing that allows perspiration to evaporate. 
We measure our clothing’s evaporative resistance (RET) 
RET < 6: extremely breathable, ideal for high-intensity activity
 RET 6–12: very breathable, suitable for moderate-intensity activity
 RET 12–20: moderately breathable, not suitable for intense activity RET
 > 20: not very breathable and therefore not suitable for physical activity
 RET > 40: not breathable

Why is it important to wear breathable clothing when cross-country skiing?

Did you know that the wind makes you feel colder?An outdoor temperature of 0°C with a wind speed of 20 km/h (12 mph) feels like -10°C.Windproof features reduce windchill by blocking airflow and wind.

On the chest, insulation protects the area most sensitive to the cold. The fabric is relatively thin on the stomach for greater comfort when wearing a hydration belt. The very stretchy fabrics on the arms and back provide great freedom of movement.

A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).

The jacket has several pockets, including one inner pocket and two at the back, allowing you to carry everything you need for your outings (key, water, bars, etc.)
