Which Endzone 500 Snowboard should I choose?

Freestyle use, opt for a relatively short board:choose a 20 or 25 cm (8”–10”) drop (ex, if you are 1.74 m/5′7″, choose a 149–154 cm/59–61” board). Smaller board make rotations and tricks easier. Bigger board is more stable at high speed and on landing jumps. 142 cm (55.9”) => 1.55–1.66 m (5′1″–5′5″) 146 cm (57.4”) => 1.6 m to 1.71 m (5′2″ to 5′7″) 151 cm (59.4”) => 1.69 m to 1.76 m (5′6″ to 5′9″) 156 cm (61.4”) => 1.74 m to 1.81 m (5′8″ to 5′11″) 160 cm (62.9”) => 1.82 m to 1.9 m (5′11″ to 6′2″

A word from the product manager

The Endzone 500 Snowboard is the most playful board in the range. Freestyle board that’s super easy to handle: fun, easy to handle, and fun. You’ll love this board! Let us know what you think in the customer feedback section.

Program/terrain

The Endzone 500 Snowboard doesn’t carve as well on the slopes as the All Road 500 Snowboard, but it is great in snow parks whether for rails, jumps, or on the flat. It’s easy to handle in tight turns on the piste and is perfect for some off-piste fun. With its flat camber and rocker and soft torsion between the feet, it’s the ideal board for an experienced rider looking for something playful or a beginner interested in freestyle.

Twin tip snowboard

The shape of the snowboard is twin tip. The board’s sidecuts are balanced from front to rear for perfect symmetry and centring when riding in both directions. The twin tip shape also provides complete balance when turning on the ground or in the air.

Flat camber + rocker

A flat camber offers the best compromise between a standard camber, which provides traction and dynamic motion, and a reverse camber, which provides manoeuvrability when turning but little traction. It is perfect for the park freestyler and beginner: - the flat camber provides stability on modules and on the slopes - the rocker makes it more forgiving in parks and on the slopes as the four corners of the board don’t touch the snow when the board is flat

Slight flex (5/10)

Flex is the stiffness of the board between the front and rear. The flex of the Endzone 500 Snowboard is approximately 5/10, making it tolerant and playful. This is an even type of flex from the tip (nose) to the tail, making the board playful in snow parks and on the piste. However, at high speed or on frozen snow, this board cannot hold a carved turn.

Soft and forgiving torsion (4/10)

The Endzone 500 Snowboard has a torsional flex (the stiffness of the board between the feet) of about 4/10, which makes the board easy to handle, pivot, and more forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion provides freedom for the feet. It’s ideal at the beginner level: it’s forgiving of edge errors. Soft torsion is also suitable for freestyle, jib, or flat use. Perfect for shredding!

0 mm setback

The setback is when the board’s compression points on the snow are not symmetrical in relation to the centre of the board but set back toward the rear. The bindings are also set back toward the rear by the same distance. No setback = these are fully centred twin tip boards, not only for riding in both directions, but also for better balance during rotations in the air and on slopes.

Recommended bindings

With the SNB 500 Snowboard bindings, the board and binding combination will be homogeneous in terms of level with coherent design.

When should you wax your snowboard?

Decathlon snowboards come pre-waxed. Like all snowboards, they require regular maintenance. Ideally, wax them every 5 outings and at least once a year - at the beginning of the season for a smooth glide - at the end so the wax protects the base all summer

Glide quality: sintered base.

The bases are made from polyethylene using two different technical processes: - extruded base, with a certain density of polyethylene - a sintered base, with a higher density of polyethylene (fewer holes, more PE) A sintered base is the gold standard for bases. It offers fantastic glide.

What does “wide” mean for a snowboard?

A wide board is wider than normal to prevent larger feet from touching the snow when turning or to increase buoyancy on powder. The width of the board is measured at its centre. At Decathlon, we have defined them as follows: - up to 245 mm (9.6”): narrow board/shoe size 4–7 - from 246–255 mm (9.7”–10″): normal board/shoe size 5–8 - from 256–265 mm (10.1”–10.4”): mid-wide/shoe size 7–10 - from 266 mm (10.5”): wide/shoe size 8.5–13

Can the store mount the bindings on my board for me?

Yes.You can ask your store to fit your bindings to suit your preferences. Remember to take your snowboard boots with you for 2 adjustments: 1. The front/back of the binding so that the toes or heels of the boots don’t stick out on one side more than the other 2. The straps on your bindings, which should be properly adjusted for your boots.

Size 146: 2,530 g +/- 6% Size 151: 2,697 g (5.9 lb) +/- 6% Size 156 cm (61.4”): 3,026 g (6.8 lb) +/- 6% Size 160 cm (62.9”) (Mid Wide): 2,952 g (6.5 lb) +/- 6%
