Fabric fraying after a few wears

After a couple weeks of infrequent wear, the fabric started to fray. We have bought similar waterproof walking shoes in the past and they lasted really well. Not sure why these are falling apart almost immediately.

Bonnes chaussures, bonne accroche, parfait pour rando, via ferrata etc. par contre les lacets s'étaient effilés avec notre paire précédente après qques mois, rendant la chaussure inutilisable. Je rachète tout de même car dans l'ensemble c'est une bonne chaussure.
