How to stay warm on the slopes

Yes. Thanks to its ultra-breathable design, this garment wicks perspiration away, keeping your body dry and preventing you from feeling cold due to the damp (in case of intense exertion). Its close-fitting cut also keeps you warm. For optimal comfort on the slopes, we recommend the 3-layer rule (see above).

Ergonomic design

All our sock sizes cover 3 or 4 shoe sizes. The elastane helps the socks mould to your feet and stay in place. Foot length, size, and volume vary from person to person: that’s why it’s important to try your socks on before going skiing.
We always recommend choosing slightly small over slightly large socks.

Choosing the right sock size

The size chart for this sock is more precise than for other models in the range: One sock size covers three foot sizes instead of the usual four. This model also offers asymmetrical feet (differentiated right and left foot) for a perfect fit.

This sock is made with an anti-friction yarn.
Blisters are generally caused by socks, shoes, or foreign objects chafing feet. Humidity also plays a role, as it makes skin more vulnerable.
Chafing is reduced when the sock stays in place.
Some of our socks have anti-friction yarn to reduce irritation.
These socks do not provide 100% protection from blisters.

The BL 500 ski base layer has a standard straight cut that adapts to all body shapes. It’s not too loose, so it keeps in the heat effectively.

Polyester is the most commonly-used fibre for base garments because it is relatively inexpensive and offers excellent performance in various respects, and especially because the fibres can be knitted to obtain a very lightweight and durable fabric. It actively absorbs moisture but does not dry particularly well when wet.

This breathable fibre manages moisture very well and provides good temperature regulation.

Thanks to its bodymapping technology and brushed polyamide fibre created with I-Soft technology, this second skin will evenly distribute body heat.

Technical product structure

The I-Soft technology enhances the fabric’s performance, providing a variety of benefits: softness, warmth, and comfort. It also enhances garment performance, providing better heat regulation, humidity absorption, and thermal insulation. To achieve this softness, the base layer is brushed.

What is I-Soft technology?

The I-Band technology is an innovative design used around the waist of the I-Soft top and bottom base layers. It helps keep the garment in place so that it doesn’t ride up or fall down when skiing.

The BL 580 Ski Base Layer Bottoms come in a slim fit. They stop at the knee to avoid overlapping layers (socks and base layer) and folds in your ski boot, which may affect comfort.

These gloves contain leather, and leather detests water: don’t wash them, even by hand, to avoid damaging them.
To keep them flexible and in the shape, hydrate the leather with a suitable balm, like one you would use on your own skin.

Leather care advice

These ski gloves have a water-resistant membrane (a very thin polymer film) between the lining and the outer part of the glove. This membrane acts as a barrier, making the product waterproof. The product’s exterior materials are also treated for water repellency. 
In extremely wet conditions, a glove with a membrane cannot be as "waterproof" as a glove made out of "rubber" type material.

Waterproof membrane

All Wedze gloves and mittens have a water-repellent treatment that makes water slide off the fabric’s surface instead of being absorbed. This means the fabric does not become saturated. It remains light and warm. A treatment applied to the outer surface makes the fabric water-repellent. To remain effective, this treatment must be reapplied every 2 to 3 washes with specific products that are available in our stores.

How do you choose the right sock size?

A practical and comprehensive set of accessories for all your outings

The waterproof component and the assembly prevent water from getting in. The seams are waterproof, and the zippers are also waterproof and under a protective flap. This jacket has been tested in a special shower that reproduces the conditions of the ski resorts, and in the field for several days in different weather conditions.

Highly waterproof (15,000 mm Schmerber) and tested in real-life conditions

A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).

The pants are padded with 60 g/m² insulation: just enough to keep you warm without being too thick.

Warm without compromising on breathability

The RET, or the evaporative resistance of the material (ISO 11092 standard), is 12. The lower this rating, the more water vapour generated by the body evaporates.
 
RET < 9 = extremely breathable   
9 < RET < 12 = very breathable 
12 < RET < 20 = breathable
RET > 20 = little or no breathability.

Breathable fabric and ventilation

This is a very thin polyurethane film that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. More flexible, lightweight, resistant and often more breathable than coating, which is less expensive and requires a protective lining, similar to paint applied to the inside of the fabric.

Beyond the warranty period (2 years), your product will still be repairable (seams, zippers, etc.). Solutions can be offered at your nearest store.

You don't need to wear anything under these padded pants. However, in very cold weather, you can wear a breathable thermal base layer (known as a layer 1).

What to wear under ski pants

The water repellency of your pants should be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though they remain waterproof thanks to the component, they seem to start absorbing water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product.
