The waterproof component and the assembly prevent water from getting in. The seams are waterproof, and the zippers are also waterproof and under a protective flap. This jacket has been tested in a special shower that reproduces the conditions of the ski resorts, and in the field for several days in different weather conditions.

Highly waterproof (15,000 mm Schmerber) and tested in real-life conditions

A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).

The pants are padded with 60 g/m² insulation: just enough to keep you warm without being too thick.

Warm without compromising on breathability

The RET, or the evaporative resistance of the material (ISO 11092 standard), is 12. The lower this rating, the more water vapour generated by the body evaporates.

Breathable fabric and ventilation

This is a very thin polyurethane film that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. More flexible, lightweight, resistant and often more breathable than coating, which is less expensive and requires a protective lining, similar to paint applied to the inside of the fabric.

What to wear under ski pants

The water repellency of your pants should be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though they remain waterproof thanks to the component, they seem to start absorbing water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product.

Which fabrics are used to make my pants warm?

We lab test our products to provide you with a comfort indicator. The comfort indicator is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and a fleece for jackets. The temperature indicated is the external temperature at which the testers were neither warm nor cold. Of course, the perceived temperature varies depending on the intensity of the activity and each individual’s metabolism.

How is comfort temperature measured?

The regular fit allows the pants to be combined with a technical base layer.

What is the fit of the 100 Ski Pants?

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm. The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Fabric with a waterproof rating of 5,000 mm is resistant to the pressure exerted by a 5,000 mm column of water.
For skiing, we recommend fabrics rated 5,000 to 20,000 mm. At Decathlon, we lab test all of our waterproof products. This product's rating is?/ 5 In a shower test.

How is your pants’ water resistance measured?

These pants have elastic gaiters at the ankles to cover your boots. The seal created by the gaiters keeps the snow out.

How can I prevent snow from getting in my pants?

To optimize your product’s performance and durability: 
*Machine wash at 30°C on a synthetics cycle. 
*Turn the product inside out.
*Use a small amount of detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
*Wring by hand. 
*Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place.
Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator.

These gloves contain leather, and leather detests water: don’t wash them, even by hand, to avoid damaging them.
To keep them flexible and in the shape, hydrate the leather with a suitable balm, like one you would use on your own skin.

Leather care advice

These ski gloves have a water-resistant membrane (a very thin polymer film) between the lining and the outer part of the glove. This membrane acts as a barrier, making the product waterproof. The product’s exterior materials are also treated for water repellency. 
In extremely wet conditions, a glove with a membrane cannot be as "waterproof" as a glove made out of "rubber" type material.

Waterproof membrane

All Wedze gloves and mittens have a water-repellent treatment that makes water slide off the fabric’s surface instead of being absorbed. This means the fabric does not become saturated. It remains light and warm. A treatment applied to the outer surface makes the fabric water-repellent. To remain effective, this treatment must be reapplied every 2 to 3 washes with specific products that are available in our stores.

Because UV rays are harmful to eyes, all our goggles are certified 100% anti-UV in accordance with the EN 174 standard. Goggles, which perfectly enclose the eyes and prevent any direct or reflected UV light from entering, provide the best protection.

Essential anti-fogging is a dual lens with treatment on the inside of the inner lens.
To ensure effective ventilation, do not block the vent with a neck warmer, for example.
Be careful not to rub the inside of the lens, but carefully dab the surface to maintain the effectiveness of the anti-fogging treatment for as long as possible

Essential Anti-fog

Goggles with dual screen reduce condensation. The air trapped between the lenses creates a layer of thermal insulation. The thermal shock between the inside and the outside of the goggles is lower, limiting fogging on the goggles’ inner lens. The inner lens also has an anti-fog treatment.

Double lens

The cylindrical double lens is made of polycarbonate (outer lens) and cellulose polycarbonate (inner lens) cut to fit the goggles.

The EN 174 standard is a European standard applied to goggles used for eye protection when downhill skiing or during similar activities, such as snowboarding. The ANSI standard, the American standard, has more stringent requirements for resistance to shocks and impact.
These ski goggles comply with both of these standards.

Moisture causes fogging. To prevent this, ensure the foam does not get damp, for example by placing the goggles on a wet helmet or a hat. Falling face down in the snow can also cause your goggles to fog up. Always dry your ski goggles overnight to get rid of any dampness so you can return to the slopes the following day with bone-dry goggles.
