What is the comfort limit temperature?

A sleeping bag does not produce heat but retains the heat produced by the body. If you’re cold and you slip into a cold, damp sleeping bag, it’s very likely that you’ll feel cold no matter how good your sleeping bag is! These temperature ratings therefore depend on the user’s resistance to cold, equipment, clothing, and weather conditions.

What you need to know about temperature

Dress lightly (just one layer of clothing is enough). Warm up your extremities: hat, gloves, socks, hand warmers, padding, etc. A hot water bottle can be used for extra warmth (as long as there’s no risk of it leaking!). Contract your muscles (70% of the energy consumed is transformed into heat). However, try to do this without moving too much as this can let in cold air.
You can use a sleeping bag liner so you won’t have to wash your sleeping bag as often.
