Technologies: This garment was subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces average rain shower conditions in the mountains.

Worn as a third layer, this down jacket was certified effective during standardized heat chamber testing to a low of -5°C. The model is wearing a synthetic, long-sleeved shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h (3 mph) wind. We also tested this product in static mode; the comfort temperature is 5°C in this case.

How warm is this padded jacket?

The fill power of down has 3 advantages for mountain hiking: 
- Thermal insulation, because of the air trapped in the down and feathers.
- Ultra-lightweight: down wadding is lighter than synthetic and provides the same warmth. This saves more weight in your backpack.
- Ultra-compressible.

The advantages of down and feather filling

Fill power is a measure of the down’s thermal insulation capacity and potential to trap air. It is expressed in cuin (cubic inches). Down with higher fill power will take up more space, trap more air, and provide greater thermal insulation. This jacket is filled with 90% down and 10% feathers and has a guaranteed fill power of 800 cuin (international standard) or more.

Measuring the fill power of down and feather filling

This washable down jacket can be worn all winter.
Washing advice: 
1. Machine wash at 30°C with detergent specially formulated for down or technical garments. Use a gentle spin cycle. 
2. Tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls and repeat 2 or 3 times until the garment is completely dry.

How to care for down jackets

This fabric is water-repellent. Water repellency keeps the fabric lightweight and warm. It’s recommended to wear a waterproof jacket over top in the rain. Treatment on the outer surface achieves water repellency, but the treatment can deteriorate with use. We recommend restoring it after each wash.

Water repellency (different from waterproofing)

After washing, we recommend using a water-repellent spray to prevent water absorption. This renews water-repellent properties and improves performance throughout the garment’s life cycle.

Snags are common during hikes. The good news is that it can be repaired to prevent further tearing and to stop feathers from escaping. Need help repairing? Don’t worry! Some Decathlon workshops offer in-store repairs and can repair your jacket using an iron-on patch.

18/8 (304) stainless steel combines food safety with long-term durability, as it doesn’t rust and prevents corrosion. Since stainless steel is a little less conductive than aluminum, we’ve included an aluminum double bottom on this frying pan. This diffuses heat and increases heating efficiency, reducing the amount of fuel needed to cook.

The choice of metals for our kitchen utensils: a crucial one.

This frying pan is compatible with all types of heat (wood, gas, induction, etc). 
The frying pan has a folding handle that locks (and unlocks) by pushing (or pulling) the metal part placed at its centre. 
Warning: when using on a campfire, the frying pan handle can heat up due to the flames.

Our advice to get the best out of your frying pan:

Before first use, rinse 3 times in clean water.
After use, wash with soapy water, then dry before storing in a dry place.
This frying pan is dishwasher safe and can also withstand abrasive sponges and river sand.

How to clean and care for your frying pan

To avoid damage, never heat your pot or frying pan when empty.
When using over a wood fire, make sure that the flames are not in direct contact with the plastic parts.
Finally, always lock the frying pan handle when you use it.

Want an easy way to stay hydrated while out hiking? This 1 L water bottle was designed to be opened quickly with one hand.

Cap Type

Aluminum is not an insulating material. Use a specially designed insulating cover if you want to keep liquids cool in your water bottle.
You can put hot drinks in this bottle, but they will cool down quickly. Suitable for carbonated drinks.
Do not use with liquids that contain fats (dairy products, oils) or acidic drinks (fruit juice, energy drinks). Do not freeze or microwave. Do not expose to open flames or other heat sources.

The top is easy to open with one hand—just press the white button. When carrying the water bottle, you can lock the top by sliding the white button down. A red area will appear, indicating that the top is locked. It also has a filter for infusing fruits or other flavours and a built-in carrying handle.
