This model was designed and validated by our Mont Blanc team.
The pole is equipped with an external locking mechanism for precise and fast adjustment. 
We designed an extra long handle for different types of grip: along the tube for climbs and steep terrain, with the wrist strap for efficient pushing, and on the knob for descents.
Made from the best 7075-T6 aluminum combined with a simple, robust two-strand design.

Design

While holding the grip, your arm should bend at a 90-degree angle. To do this: 
- Open the outer lever.
- Slide the tube to the desired length.
- Close the lever.
Never go over the Stop line to avoid breaking the pole.

How to adjust your poles to the correct length

This hiking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself forward, and reduce impact on your arms and legs.
To be on the safe side, check before you set off and at regular intervals that your pole is locked in place by simulating heavy bumps. If you notice that your pole keeps sliding out of place, the locking mechanism turn ring needs adjusting. Open the lever and turn the knob a quarter to a half turn.
Do not attach it to your backpack, as this can be hazardous in the event of a storm.

Directions for use

Decathlon sells hiking and trekking poles individually. This is because they are used in different ways. Some people prefer to use only one pole. If someone uses a pair and one pole breaks, they can replace one broken pole without buying a new pair.

- a durable fabric (198 g/m²) on the areas that need protection from abrasion (seat, bottom of the leg at the front). This fabric is also stretchy, so you can move freely.
- a light, breathable fabric (145 g/m²) on the rest of the pants.
- a very stretchy crotch gusset.

What accessories are available for the MT 500 Hiking Pants?

These pants have water-repellent inserts (front of leg, seat) so water slides off the fabric’s surface. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.

The water repellency prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. For intense rain, you will need a pair of rain pants like the MT 500 Hiking Pants (ref. 8736465).

Water repellency can be reactivated using a water-repellent spray (ref. 8800346).

Tip before use

We recommend machine washing your merino wool T-shirt at 30°C on a normal cycle, preferably with liquid detergent. Dry flat and never tumble dry to avoid shrinkage.

Paddles are a piece of swimming equipment used to work the upper body (arms, shoulders, chest, back). They are made to provide more propulsion, increase the force applied by the swimmer, and correct their movements. 

Three sizes of paddles are available:

If the paddle tends to slip off the hand, the movement can be improved.
With the paddles, you will have to focus on your stroke technique and the feelings in your hands and forearms. Your hands and arms will quickly position themselves in the water in the best way possible to get the most power.

Do the paddles move when swimming? Why?

The exclusive patented Quick’in system was designed to make swimming paddles easier to put on. It consists of a polypropylene wing and a piece of silicone attached to the underside of the paddles.

Pressing the silicone upward lets you adjust the height of the wing to ensure a snug and comfortable fit.

You can use the paddles in one of two ways:
1 - Fasten the straps around your wrists for the most stability. This is recommended when beginning to use them.
 2- Use without the wrist strap when you get a bit more experience. It will help you get a better feel for your stroke technique and correct movements properly. The paddle will move more easily if you make the wrong manoeuvre.
