What criteria does UV protection meet?

This European standard establishes test methods to assess the capacity of fabrics to protect against UV rays. It gives a UV protection factor (UPF) based on the fabric’s capacity to block UV rays. The products complying with this standard guarantee a certified sun protection level.

What is standard DIN EN 13758-1?

The product is first washed three times in the washing machine and line-dried. It is then fully immersed in water. The test measures how long it takes for the cap to return to its original weight. For this cap, the time was 120 minutes.

These pants have water-repellent inserts (front of leg, seat) so water slides off the fabric’s surface. This product is water-repellent, not waterproof.

The water repellency prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly. However, this won’t be enough to keep you dry if you’re in steady rain. For intense rain, you will need a pair of rain pants like the MT 500 Hiking Pants (ref. 8736465).

Water repellency can be reactivated using a water-repellent spray (ref. 8800346).

Merino wool offers an unbeatable experience: soft, lightweight, and breathable. Thanks to its fine fibres, it provides natural thermal regulation. It keeps your feet warm in cool weather and cool in warm weather.

What are the benefits of merino wool?

To stay warm when hiking in the winter, we recommend: 
- Warmth: wear warm socks (ideally with a good percentage of wool). 
- Breathability: choose socks based on the intensity of the hike and, to minimize moisture, make sure they’re breathable.
- Boot height: the height of your socks should correspond to the height of the boot: for more protection, choose higher socks.
