Which size should you choose?

Allow children to try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks they will be wearing while hiking. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot while standing on a downward incline. Avoid all pressure points when trying shoes on.

What does the UV protection do?  
It protects your eyes from UV rays.
UV radiation is present in winter and summer, in sunny and cloudy weather, and can be harmful to your eyes and eye contours.
The lenses are made of polycarbonate mixed with UV protection against the harmful rays of the sun (UVA and UVB).

Tinted lens classification based on ISO 12312-1 standard: - Category 1: lens with a light tint for reduced sunlight. - Category 2: lens with a medium tint for average sunlight. - Category 3: dark lens for strong sunlight (sea and mountains). Between 82% and 92% visible light absorbed.

Our lenses are made of polycarbonate, which is resistant to impacts but easily scratched. 
Even if your lenses are scratched, the UV protection does not decrease; the mirror effect is purely for aesthetic purposes.

Your child’s arm should bend at a 90-degree angle while holding the pole. To adjust the pole: press the metal button so the sections can slide into each other. Repeat until you get the desired size.
   

How to adjust your pole

-> The minimum setting of 75 cm (30”) is suitable for a child who is 100 cm (3’4”) tall on average.
-> The maximum setting of 100 cm (39”) is suitable for a child who is 145 cm (4’9”) tall on average.

This is a general guideline only and may vary from one child to another.

Which size to choose for your child?

Before leaving on a hike: always check that your poles are properly assembled.
When going downhill or when the climb is very steep, you can make your poles longer.
When going downhill, remove the wrist strap so that the pole doesn’t get in your way in the event of a fall.

We display the comfort temperatures on all our sleeping bags, which are tested by an independent laboratory (AITEX) for compliance with standards. 
The comfort temperature is the lower comfort limit at which a user in a relaxed position maintains thermal balance and is neither too cold nor too warm (determined under normal conditions of use). 
Choose your sleeping bag accordingly.

Usage temperature:

Sleeping bags do not produce heat but rather retain body heat. 
This means these temperature ratings depend on the person’s resistance to cold (body type, fatigue, etc.), equipment (mattress with insulation, etc.), clothing, and weather conditions (wet, windy, etc.).
If you are cold when you get into a cold, damp sleeping bag, you’ll probably feel cold, irrespective of the qualities of your sleeping bag!

What you need to know about temperatures

Choose a sleeping bag that’s appropriate for your child’s size. 
The more air there is to warm up, the more energy the body will use to stay warm, and the higher the risk of getting cold during the night.
Your child can lose a lot of heat from their head. 
In cold weather, put them to bed with a hat on.

Specifics for kids:

We recommend you use a washing machine with a minimum 7-kg (15 lb.) capacity and close the zippers on your sleeping bag.

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the JIS 1092 standard).The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric.This jacket can withstand 5,000 mm of water (equivalent to a rain shower lasting 1 hour).
To approve this, the MH 500 Waterproof Hiking Jacket was placed in a shower for one hour with a volume of 60 L of water/m²/h. This test reproduces average rain shower conditions in the mountains.


How is the water resistance of the MH 500 Waterproof Hiking Jacket measured?

Fabric breathability is measured by its thermal evaporative resistance (RET). 
This allows sweat to escape during physical activity, preventing it from accumulating on the skin. 
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.

RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little or no breathability

How breathable is the MH 500 Waterproof Hiking Jacket?

Resistance to wear and abrasion test: for example, we test our fleeces in the lab to ensure they do not pill. Colourfastness test: we check colourfastness to ensure colours don’t bleed if they come into contact with saliva. Aging test: Verifies that repeated washing does not alter the fabric’s properties, performance, thickness, or appearance.

How is the resistance of the MH 500 Waterproof Hiking Jacket tested?

1/ Machine wash (30°C to 40°C): fasten hook-and-loop tabs and zippers. Use gentle detergent. Wash jackets and pants inside out. Loosen straps and elastics. 
2/ Avoid bunching the garment in the washing machine as this can damage it. 
3/ Do not mix garment types and colours. 
4/ Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
5/ Choose a long rinse and gentle spin cycle.
6/ Hang to dry or run it through the dryer (minimum temperature, minimum duration).
