Sweat is part of physical activity, so it’s important to regulate moisture as best you can. If your shoe is breathable, it will wick away moisture more easily, so you can choose an absorbent and ventilated sock. If your shoes are relatively waterproof, you’ll want to make a different choice: you need a sock that will absorb and wick perspiration away.

Choosing the right hiking socks

This sock comes in 3 lengths. The low sock reaches slightly above the shoes but under the ankles. They’re worn with low-cut shoes.
The mid sock covers just above your ankles. Ideally, they’re worn with shoes with low uppers.  The high sock is best for shoes with medium or high uppers and covers your ankle completely, stopping just below the calf.

We selected a technical yarn with a specific coating (PTFE) at the heel and toe to reduce friction and the risk of blisters. These socks cannot guarantee 100% protection from blisters. Blisters usually form when your skin is weakened by friction from socks, shoes, stones, or sand. Moisture also weakens the skin.

Reducing the risk of rubbing

We offer 3 lengths of hiking socks. Short/low: go slightly above the shoes but under the ankles. Medium/mid: go just above the ankles to protect them. These 2 lengths are the right size for low-cut shoes. High: go just below the calf, perfect for high-top hiking shoes.
