Carry-on luggage

Begin by adjusting the lumbar belt. The weight should sit mainly on your hips.
Tighten the shoulder straps to bring the weight toward your back.
Attach and tighten the chest strap, then tighten the smaller straps above the shoulders so that the bag sits perfectly on your back.

How to adjust your backpack

The backpack has a protective rain cover.

Protect your bag when it’s raining.

- Empty the bag completely
- Remove the foam and frames from your backpack if you’re sure you can put them back
- Vacuum out any dust
- Put the bag in a bath, shower, or a wash basin
- Use a stiff-bristle brush or a sponge if you have a small backpack
- Wash the bag with soapy water and scrub any stains

How comfortable is this backpack?

This backpack is water-repellent. In light rain, water will roll off without penetrating it. However, it is not completely waterproof. If the rain goes on too long or is too heavy, water will seep through. For extra protection, choose our 10–20 L rain cover (ref. 8772113).

The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or mm of water (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. 
This jacket is designed with a waterproof coating: this component resists 5,000 mm of water (Schmerbers) before washing (equivalent to the pressure exerted by a 5,000 mm column of water).

Component waterproofing

It’s not just the components that make this jacket waterproof: the assembly technique also makes a difference.
The overall waterproof properties of your jacket are measured with a shower test developed by Decathlon that simulates rain of varying intensity.
This waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e., 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.

Waterproofness

To maintain the water repellency of the fabric, we recommend reactivating it regularly. 
Reactivate water repellency after three washes (remember to rinse thoroughly) or after using a dozen times in the rain. 
You can easily reactivate water repellency by warming the fabric: 
- in a dryer for 15 minutes (synthetics cycle) 
- with a hair dryer, moving back and forth at a distance of 20 cm, twice
- with an iron on the delicate setting and with the steam function off

Preserving your jacket’s performance

The fabric of this jacket is breathable: RET = 12.
Component breathability is measured using thermal evaporative resistance (RET). 
RET refers to a fabric’s capacity to let perspiration evaporate. 
The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric.

RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little or no breathability

Technical hood

The jacket lining is made of two materials: mesh in the back to improve the garment’s breathability and nylon at the hips to maximize ease of movement and durability. Hood includes ultra-soft fabric for added comfort.

The jacket has 7 pockets in total! Two side pockets for warming your hands. Two large external cargo pockets with a flap and snaps. One outer chest pocket and one inside pocket with a zipper to secure your personal belongings. One inner mesh pocket for storing your gloves and keeping them warm at the same time!

This jacket is designed for day hiking at a pace of 5 km/h on level ground.
How much you perspire depends on the intensity and duration of your physical activity. If the fabric is not breathable enough for your activity, perspiration will condense inside the jacket. The jacket will feel damp inside. This dampness is not rain soaking through the shell, but condensation caused by perspiration. Choose a waterproof jacket according to your level of physical activity.

The choice of metals for our kitchen utensils is vital to ensure performance, durability, and safety. For this grill, we’ve chosen aluminum: a lightweight, sturdy metal that’s an excellent heat conductor. It allows for quick, even cooking, and is also easy to transport. It has a non-stick coating that makes it easy to clean. This choice ensures practical, reliable, and suitable use of open air cookers, even on a direct flame.

To ensure your grill continues to work meal after meal, we’ve opted for Whitford’s Xylan+ PTFE coating. This non-stick champion combines quality with durability. With no PFOA, it’s ready to handle all your recipes. 
Use it with soft utensils that won’t damage the coating.
To clean, use with a soft, non-scratch sponge.

What about the coating used?

This grill can be used with any type of heat source (wood, gas, induction, etc.). 
It has a retractable handle that’s lockable (unlocks) by pushing (pulling) on the metal part at the bottom. 
Be careful when using on campfires as the grill handle can become very hot.

Our tips for optimal use of your grill:

Before first use, rinse 3 times in clean water.
After use, wash with soapy water, then dry before storing in a dry place.


How do you clean and keep this grill in good condition?

To ensure you don’t damage it, never heat up the grill when empty.
When using over a wood fire, make sure that the flames are not in direct contact with the plastic parts.
Finally, always make sure you’ve locked the grill handle securely in place when using it.
