The height difference between the back and front of the sole is 8 mm.

The importance of cushioning

To give you optimal comfort and performance when running, we focused on the sole, which features 2 technologies:

- K-Ring: ring located in the heel to improve cushioning at the rear and spread the impact, providing effective protection for your joints, back, and knees.
- Kalensole: improves cushioning by 34% and propulsion by 25% (compared with standard foam) and lasts up to 1,000 km.

What about stability?

A stable shoe that facilitates the roll-through of the foot and reduces the effort needed to control the foot and heel for a more relaxed foot motion.
As a result, we have increased the contact area of the foot and added Arkstab technology (a piece of TPU resin at the midfoot).

- a new collar at the back of the shoe, ensuring excellent heel support and ideal softness.
- a preformed sole made of open-cell PU (polyurethane) foam.
- a redesigned forefoot area.
- a seamless, single piece of fabric to reduce friction.

Our sole is designed like a car tire—for running performance without losing control in wet conditions.
The new geometry of the sole combined with a new rubber component provides the Kiprun KS 500 Running Shoes with excellent grip on wet terrain, even at top speed.

Normally these shoes are quite durable and the sole should not come off so easily. Unfortunately, it may be a one-off case. I would recommend you to exchange the product for a new one.

Bought just over a month ago . As you can’t really try them in the store they felt really good in there, went up half size for comfort. First few times I tried them I had pins and needles towards the end of the run - assumed like any other shoe they needed a bit of breaking in but after about 10 runs abandoned all hope. Can’t run any distance in them. I have had a card and account at decathlon for years but forgot to log purchase when I bought them. Contacted decathlon and explained (still have receipt) and they won’t return anything over a month old. I guess this isn’t too surprising but I would add that I’ve had loads of pairs of trail and running shoes over the years and returned 2 I had longer terms issues with - inov8 being one who were only too happy to provide an exchange. Love decathlon (still using a pair of their trail shoes after 3 years) but stick to the proper brands for running shoes…….

I have flat feet that overpronate when running and requires arch support. The KS500's solid arch support works wonder and helped correct the stride. For something at this price it's wonderful.
However I had to dock 1 star because the heel is way too tough. I managed to get it comfortable with a gel insole however, but still a design flaw. Would love to see the next model have a better cushioned heel

I normally ware size 9. When up a size. Still feel it is narrow. Otherwise the sole feel good.
Would buy again if I can get wide fit.

This review based on 6 & 5km run.

Pros
- stability
- breathable/airy
- cushion support
- light weight
- affordable

Cons
- lace tend to loosen easily. Had to double knotted tightly to prevent this.
- not for flat footed runner. Test the shoe before make a purchase.
- lack of color choices (luckily managed to grab a luminous striking yellow)

This shoe may not be comparable to Kayano series (been using it ever since) but it will be a good back in case my other shoes wet.
