TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

It was one of the largest studies in the world.

For many years,
studies on the cushioning of shoes could not verify if there was a connection between a shoe’s mechanical and cushioning mechanisms.
In 2018, Decathlon decided to conduct a test study featuring
848 participants over 27,761 running sessions, in partnership
with the LIH (see Luxembourg Institute of Health).

Purpose

To confirm the link between cushioning and injury. In this study, two cushioning
conditions were tested: A flexible shoe (61 N/mm) against a
stiff shoe (95 N/mm). The results
: There were 25% fewer injuries with the flexible shoe.
Based on this study, the Flow series’ flexible cushioning was created, focusing on the preference index of soft cushioning.

What is the drop of these shoes?

Drop is the difference in height between the shoe’s heel and forefoot. Rather than a drop of 10 mm, the Jogflow 500.1 Running Shoes have a drop of 4 mm. The goal Runners use their forefoot to adopt a more natural stride and reduce the risk of injury.

I was looking for an affordable pair of shoes with a low heel-to-toe drop (4mm) to try to change my running gait and these fit the bill.
If you are used to running in regular running shoes with a higher heel-to-toe drop, it may take a while to get used to the shoes. But after getting over the first couple of weeks, it proved to be a solid pair of shoes for short distance (
