        TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How do we guarantee waterproofing (ability to prevent water from penetrating)?

With a coating: a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of the fabric. It stops water from penetrating into the clothing but lets the water vapour produced by the body escape. Thereby keeping you dry.

How do we test the waterproofing?

The resistance of the fabric is subjected to the water column test (ISO 811 standard), or a water pressure expressed in mm of a water column. The higher the pressure of the water is without passing through the fabric, the more waterproof it is. A component with this is waterproof to 2000 mm, therefore resisting the pressure of 2000 mm of water.

We then test the waterproofing of the entire product: validated by a shower test under 100 litres of water / m² / hour for 3 hours.

        How do we guarantee breathability?

With a coating: a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of the fabric. It stops water from penetrating into the clothing but lets the water vapour produced by the body escape. Thereby keeping you dry.

        How do we test breathability?

To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance, or RET (test based on the ISO 11092 standard). It is its ability to allow the water vapour produced by the body during exercise to escape

How do we guarantee water repellency? (the product’s ability to let water flow off the surface)

The faster the water runs off without soaking into the fabric, the higher its water repellency. This prevents the product from swelling with water and keeps it lightweight. (Not to be confused with WATERPROOFING!)

This water repellency is obtained by a treatment applied to the outer surface of the fabric.

HOW TO REACTIVATE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 1: before washing

Close all zippers and flaps and remove any parts of the garment that cannot be washed. Also remember to loosen the straps and elastic parts and empty the pockets.
Then turn the garment inside out to wash it.

HOW TO REACTIVATE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 2: washing

You can wash your jacket on a synthetic cycle at 30° or 40°C with your usual detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener, which could damage the existing performance of the garment.

Also, take care not to fold your jacket too much when you place it in the washing machine and do not overload your machine.

Very important: select a thorough rinse or double rinse to completely remove all detergent residue.

HOW TO REACTIVATE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY step 3: drying

Drying is a crucial phase in reactivating the water-repellent treatment.
We recommend that you lay your jacket flat on a clothes rack and leave it out to dry in the open. Caution: never dry your jacket directly on a radiator.

Then place it in the tumble dryer on a short synthetics cycle, i.e. 10 to 15 minutes, before turning it right side out. Caution: do not over-dry the garment.

HOW TO REACTIVATE THE JACKET'S WATER REPELLENCY

If, despite this procedure of washing and thoroughly rinsing followed by gentle drying in a tumble dryer, the drops of water no longer run off the surface of your pants, we recommend that you "re-waterproof" them using a waterproofing spray sold in our stores.
