Choosing the right size of cross-country ski poles is essential for skiing properly.

For skate skiing: the poles are bigger in order to maximize the push-off
For classic cross-country skiing: the poles are smaller.

They can be made of:
Aluminum: they will be sturdy and heavy = great for beginners,
Fibreglass: they will be lighter, but more fragile,
carbon fibre and other materials: very light and rigid.

1- Take poles that are at the height of your shoulders
2 - Multiply your height in cm X 0.89 to work out the size of your poles
