What is the rocker?

On a "rocker" ski, the tip and sometimes the heel come off the ground sooner than with a cambered ski: this moves the contact points toward the centre of the ski. The ski has less contact with the snow, offering added manoeuvrability and lift in powder. The edges grip better when turning on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the ski handles. While a shorter rocker allows for more aggressive skiing.
