DESIGN and TEST IN USE
Product designed and tested by our teams in Hendaye (France). The Olaian global design centre is located on the banks of the Bidassoa river in Hendaye. This allows us to design products in contact with users and in the marine environment.
OLAIAN
OLAIAN is the new Decathlon trade name devoted to surfing, bodyboarding, and skimboarding. This Basque-sounding name is inspired by the universe of our development centre in Hendaye, in the Basque Country. It is the contraction of OLA, as OLATU means wave and IAN, a Basque suffix meaning “inside.” At OLAIAN, we see a potential playground in every wave and we want each person to be able to improve while enjoying themselves, regardless of their surroundings and their environment.

This is tremendously good fun to use thanks to the very pointy hood. A few of us acted out many a scene from Lord of the Rings while drying off. It's particularly handy for removing a wetsuit without inflicting your bits on anyone around and it's warm and comfortable. My only irk is that it doesn't have poppers down the side, so you do need to wriggle in and out, rather than throwing it at yourself and sorting it out once it's on.
