TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How is backpack volume measured?

We use a standardized method to measure the volume of each backpack: the main compartment and each pocket are filled with little balls. These balls are then emptied into a graduated container to get the equivalent volume in litres.

Backpack technical tests.

Lab tests are conducted to validate every component: fabric, buckles, straps, foam, and zippers. For example, for fabric: resistance to abrasion and tearing, colour fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. After that, we put the backpack through a test that replicates several years of use to check the strength of the assemblies. The backpack is filled with weights and placed on a dummy that replicates thousands of fast walking movements.

Comfortable bag and a good size. The fabric is not as thick or durable as other packs. The hip straps are great. Decathlon got that right. This pack could really benefit from some compression straps. The bag tends to sag when not full.
